CHURCH NEWS St. Martin Lutheran Church to host Malvern Community Thanksgiving service The annual Malvern Community Thanksgiving service will be hosted at St. Martin Lutheran Church Sunday, Nov. 24, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Wally Anderson will be this year’s featured speaker. Music is provided by Kim Asher, the congregation’s organist. The service is sponsored annually by the Malvern Ministerial
Association and all offerings are donated to the Malvern Christian Care Center, a ministry of several of the churches in Malvern. Rev. Anderson has served at St. Martin for the past 24 years. He also serves on the school boards of Brown Local Schools and the R.G. Drage Career Technical Center in Massillon. His wife, Susan, recent-
ly retired after teaching in the elementary school at Brown Local for 15 years. Their son, Andrew, graduated from Malvern High School in 1999 as co-valedictorian and received his doctorate in French studies at the Ohio State University, where he currently teaches courses. Their daughter, Sarah, graduated from
Malvern in 2002 as co-valedictorian and currently works in the film and television industry in North Hollywood, CA. Following the service the congregation is invited to share in refreshments in the church basement. The church is located at 301 W. Main St. in Malvern.
Carroll Ministerial Association to sponsor Thanksgiving Community Gathering Rev. Josh Huggett of Kilgore Evangelical Church is scheduled to speak at the annual Thanksgiving Community Gathering Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Room at
Carrollton High School. The service is sponsored by the Carroll County Ministerial Association. Huggett became pastor at Kilgore Evangelical Church in June 2013.
Holiday Craft Show slated Dec. 7 at Malvern
Pianist, soloist Tab Beechler to present public concert at Carrollton Bible Chapel Tab Beechler, a well-know pianist/soloist from Bluffton, IN, will present a public concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Carrollton Bible Chapel, 365 Steubenville Rd. SE, Carrollton. From the time Beechler (pictured) began pounding out melodies on a blue, battery-operated toy piano at the age of 5, it was clear that God had an extraordinary plan for his life. Six recordings and thousands of performances later, Tab is a celebrated pianist/vocalist and seasoned worship leader whose words and music have brought hope, encouragement and God’s truth to countless listeners. Two food items are requested for admission and a love offering will be received during the concert to which the public is invited. There will be a cookie reception for all afterward.
