n the area fronting the ‘Grande Vestibolo’, ancient monumental entrance of the Villa, the project imagines an architecture that is proposed as natural extension of the same Vestibolo, subverting the character of this space. The thermal pavillion is a stereotomic volume which supports the fountain placed in coverage: this reveals the complexity of the rooms below - ordered along the longitudinal axis - through the articulated drawing of its shapes.

T

he project, located in a disadvanteged area in the north of Milan, has a difficult goal to reach. The site presents hostiles limits, sometimes so rigid, somethimes so ephemeral; these elements constitue a possible problem to the project because of the pollution, the noise and no possible points of contact. The project designed is inspired by the image and the idea of the city as a unique structure in which, walking around its streets, it is possibile to find services, transports, residences, in a system that can answer to the new needs and to the new classes of users. The aim was to refuse the usual image of the social housing block because of its idea of discomfort, segregation; without a calibrate intervention it easily become a ghetto with such this dimensions. The intent is to fragmentate the density of the usual social housing complex integrating services with mobility and in-between spaces in order to plan a porous space, in plan and section. Using the japanese model for the internal layout for the macro system it’s planned a unique structure that can order the space, perceiving in and out using different levels of density and privacy; the density of activities outside is balanced inside with a precise and silent renaissant garden. This so strong structure organizes the space and imposes itself on the space till overimposing on the highway including a new level of dinamics , fast accesses and slow accesses are the valves to reach the heart of the project.

rom the north side, the railway defines the first limit of the area; from the opposite one, the natural landscape of the garden and the Naviglio canal describes the second strong border. The relationship with this specific context and the idea of limit becomes the main concept of the project, reinforcing the image of the barrier itself and turning it into an architectural and technical design. The construction runs for 500 meters along the railway, showing itself and becoming landmark and symbol of its concept generator.

T

he urban project in the west area of Milan looks at the system of the infrastructure as an opportunity to connect the heart of the city centre with the suburbs, filling the gap between the countryside and the city. Starting from the street itself, we look at this system as a unique element made not only of the road but also of borders, services and leftover spaces that complete the entire structure. The aim is to redesign the city starting from the infrastructure and to give it the opportunity to become an architectural element.

he renovation of the cascina in the heart of Parco Sempione in Milan starts from the design of a new entrance that can be able to connect the courtyard of the cascina to the park; on the other side the reshape of the existing one marks the main entrance and receives the info point. Inside the courtyard, the restore of the old porch equipes the cascina with a sort of greenhouse that becomes the center of the agricultural activity around which takes place all the other functions.

T

he relationship between public space and private sectors, the labile limit that separates the world of the child and the adult, the meeting, the comparison and the ratio between two different realities, become the founding ideas of a project that aims to be witness to a time path, symbol of the growth of the individual child and the new adult of tomorrow. The city breaks up within a facility dedicated to children with whom it shares almost the outdoor spaces. The square, the porches, the cafe are part of a design able to include the child as an adult, not forgetting, however, that those are the areas of relationship and comparison with the most intimate and private.

L

earining from the space is the the main idea that supports this project inspired by the drawing of a city in which children are the main users. The distrubution of the activities is spread all over the floor defined by hard and soft surface that helps to define the hierarchy of the spaces. As in a small city, walking, running and jumping all around, the child can recognize the private and the public functions.
