MassChallenge Reveals 2015’s Most Promising Startups: Weather Safe Ltd made it to the Final stage! 28 May 2015
Today MassChallenge unveiled 218 global finalists for the 2015 accelerator programs to be held in Boston and London this summer. This year’s class was selected from more than 2,200 applicants and come from a diverse range of industries and geographies. 128 startups will participate in MassChallenge Boston and 90 startups will take part in MassChallenge UK. Of the 12 startups participating in the MassChallenge Israel program, seven will travel to Boston this summer and five will go to the UK. Weather Safe Ltd is one of the MassChallenge UK Finalists.

“The 200+ startups that will be entering our 2015 accelerator include many of the highest-impact startups in the world,” said MassChallenge CEO John Harthorne. “From Boston to London to Israel and beyond, the global distribution of these early-stage companies highlights the universal need and opportunity to provide startups with access to key people and resources to help them launch and succeed.”
The 2015 finalist class includes startups from 22 different countries and many industries. Of the 218 startups:
35.8 percent are in high tech
18.8 percent are healthcare and life sciences
17.9 percent are social impact
22.0 percent are general, retail and consumer goods
5.5 percent are cleantech and energy
Top categories for Boston include internet & web services, hardware, and education. The UK program’s top categories include internet & web services, enterprise software and hardware. During the program, startups will have the opportunity to engage with high-profile speakers and expert mentors. Additional benefits include free office space, media attention and access to industry resources. Boston hardware startups will also have access for the first time to the new MADE@ MassChallenge hardware lab where they can prototype and manufacture physical products.
