The project is a - high security - prison in Berlengas Island, a protected area by Heritage of Unesco. The project is settled in a human architecture that is a formally elegant solution, through a functional system, which reverses the traditional system of the prison, giving a more familiar concept to the space. Starting from the idea that human beings are social animals, the site purpose is to replace the individual in society by analyzing the space that surrounds it. Despite its solid volume, the building starts to change shape in a vertical slope, creating fractures that allow greater access of the light able to illuminate the daily path of the prisoner. A central patio will be the main public space.

The city is divided in several different zones, from one side the old industrial site, then the local salt flats and the city centre. The project is located in a residential area. The water coming from the river and the ocean has a relevant importance, for industrial production, salt production, and dwelling use. The presence of a museum in this area will enhances the local working life. It must be presented as an humble activity, trying to be seen as a urban component and at the same time to be recognized. The material of the external cladding and the general shape will bring the mind of the visitor back to the local jobs; the structure and the grid are inspired by the layout of the industries building, the color and the lightness are strictly connect with the salt mines. The presence of the water represent the union of the different work activities.

The project located in the suburb of Cosenza, is a service station along the highway. Designing a gas station in this surrounding does not mean merely to think about shape or lines that will define our building, but in fact it also regards an environemntal aspect. The landscape obtains a large consideration in the design process. The impact of the new construction has been extremely taken in consideration in order to reach good visual comfort and performance for the environment. Thus the service station will represent an element in the nature, as a symbol that identifies the break from a route, and at the same time a landmark. The concept has been developed through the collision of two elements belong to the site, that represent a contradiction in the project: the forest symbol of nature and the road symbol of human beeing. Subsequently it is from here that the concept takes dimension: two distinct blocks claiming space in their movement without showing off. They follow lines from the land and create indoor and outdoor spaces completely independent.

The assignment was to design a new church located in Hatlehol, near Ă…leseund, Norway. The design concept has been defined through thematic and contextual analysis along the site. Nordic architecture and tectonic have affected the relation between form, structure, material and detail. Water was identifed as key gesture. The timber construction techniques with an duopitch truss system across the whole design have a strong connection with the local historical context. The project started with the concept that community should be the heart of religious buildings and developed as a design that joins all the functions into one whilst sacral spaces. Inspired by the qualities of natural landscape at the site, several buildings are created using an extension of a local creek, as a dividing factor. The creek is a symbol of the division of different functions and it is meant to take the visitors and workers through an acoustic and visual journey. The different buildings and functions are united with a circular corridor that enables a connection with both the nature outside the church arrangement and the courtyard between the buildings.

1825 Empreiteiros Digitais is a Studio involved in the production of visual architecture, through rendering and architectural images. The aim of the company is a support tool for architects, which allows not only to test the spatial and light relationships of their project but also in the selection of materials to be applied. It’ s a constant research of new methods of architectural representation, through seek of alternative paradigms and specific atmosphere. The image must have the ability to seduce and stick in the memory, communicating quickly the character of the space. Furthermore, the study is looking for a balance between the scientific vision and the dream representation of an atmosphere.
The project Rodrigo da Fonseca 45 in Lisbon, is designed by Appleton & Domingos Arquitetos, and has involved the study of rendering in the design of a residential building in the city center. Through several software as Rhyno and Octane Render and other visual tools of high techonlogy as DJI Phantom drone and Samsung Gear VR glasses our team have worked in the modeling and rendering the interior and exterior of several houses. As I did collaborate in the group the main task was about understanding the tridimensional space from 2D drawings and photographs and to realize the 3D model.

PONTUNE is a lake intervention in Herastrau park. The project is the answer to the challenge raised by the theme of the MEDS 2016 workshop “Bucharest city of contrasts. Composed of a floating deck and three floating sound installations, the structure aims to mediate the irregular use of the lake banks. Overcrowding, gentrification and parasitizing of public space by private developers are several issues observed along the project. PONTUNE convinces passengers to stop and shift their attention to the scenic lake views, and reuse places in the park. The floating platform works as an unusual relaxing spot. Designed to be installed only during September 2016, the park administration kept the structure afloat till present day.
