Do I require any special experience?
Having business experience is always an advantage and not necessary. Our training program is designed to teach all the knowledge required to bring anybody who possesses the passion and desire to run their own business up to the level needed to run a successful franchise.
What is the term of a franchise?
Franchisees are usually granted a five (5) year initial franchise term together with an option to renew for a further (5) years.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
A $1,500 (plus GST) deposit is payable upon application for a new franchise. This deposit, less the franchisor’s reasonable expenses (to a maximum of $300), are refundable if the application is not approved.
What are the ongoing fees of the franchise?
A franchise service fee of $125 (plus GST) per week is payable. A marketing contribution fee of $25 per week is payable into an independently audited marketing fund. This fund is used to promote increased customer awareness and provide each store with national promotional material and ongoing marketing services, all aimed at attracting new customers, increasing the average spend and promoting new products
How much profit will I make?
This depends largely on several factors such as the cost of funds (lease payments etc), cost of goods sold, other operating costs and generally how you operate your business. Ask to see details of examples we have based on industry knowledge.
How many staff will I need?
As a rule you will be the only person/s operating your business. Occasionally some business owners will hire an assistant for some or all of the daily run to help out with busy periods. We will provide information to assist with this.
How much will wages cost?
As you are an owner operator the method you choose to record wages will be something dependant on your business structure and advice from your accountant.
Who selects the territory?
Usually the territory you choose to operate within will be the one closest to your home. We will show you the territories available within your area and you can choose.
Do I need any other money to start?
In addition to the cost of acquiring The Coffee Guy Franchise you will need additional funds to pay for personal expenses, travel expenses and home set up expenses. Page 1 of 2

What services are included in return for the franchise and marketing fees?
The services you will receive cover a wide range of management assistance and operational services, including; • On-going operational training, tools and support. • Marketing support including advertising campaigns, public relations campaigns and specific on van promotions designed to increase customer count and average sales. • Stringent quality control standards. • Business Development Manager (BDM) to assist franchisees with all aspects of daily operations to ensure appropriate performance levels and quality standards. • Event procurement assistance.
What initial franchise fees are payable?
The following GST exclusive initial franchise fees are payable: • $17,000 – initial franchise fee • $14,000 – initial training fee • $10,000 – initial marketing fee Prospective franchisees should refer to the Franchisor’s Disclosure Document which provides a full range of all fees or costs payable in connection with the establishment of a franchise.
Can I get any special finance??
RFG currently has preferred funding arrangements with major financial institutions throughout Australia. This means that potential franchisees that achieve bank approval may be able to borrow between 50% - 65% of the total establishment cost on the value of the business.

It is inappropriate for us to make any representation to you regarding the potential levels of sales and profitability of any existing or new business. We will provide proforma budget layouts that you can test and budget for the various levels of sales that you decide are appropri ate. You should also obtain independent financial advice in connection with these matters.
