Gloria Jean's Coffees The Gloria Jean’s Coffees journey started in 1979 in Chicago, where the business’ namesake, Gloria Jean Kveto and her husband, Ed, started the company offering quality coffee in a warm, inviting atmosphere. They expanded throughout the US and caught the attention of Australian businessmen Nabi Saleh and Peter Irvine, who recognised the opportunity to launch the Gloria Jean’s Coffees brand in Australia. The pair, who hold the rights to franchise Gloria Jean’s Coffees worldwide, have grown the business to include 380 franchisees operating over 400 coffee houses throughout Australia and over 900 throughout 39 countries worldwide. Recognition of the company’s commitment to supporting its franchise partners came within the first decade of operation, having won Franchisor of the Year and International Franchisor of the Year several times since 2005. Franchise Partners and guests are not the only people who benefit from the Gloria Jean’s Coffee business model, as the company also supports several not-for-profit organisations. Gloria Jean’s Coffees collaborates with Rainforest Alliance by purchasing a selection of coffee and cocoa for their products from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms. Rainforest Alliance certification helps protect ecosystems and support the communities and wildlife that depends on them. As part of the company’s commitment to build and change lives in local communities around the world, Gloria Jean’s Coffees also founded charity arm, With Heart, in 2009. The global foundation established fundraising campaigns such as Cappuccino for a Cause; supports initiatives like Jeans for Genes Day®; and raises funds for key charity partners such as Special Olympics Australia. The Cappuccino for a Cause initiative alone raised more than half a million dollars in the past five years for charities including Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia and Variety – The Children’s Charity. Not only will you receive comprehensive training and ongoing support as a Gloria Jean’s Coffees Franchise Partner, you can take pride in knowing you are helping both your guests and communities on a daily basis throughout Australia and the world.
