OF

GO

SUSHI

Go Sushi is an Australian owned and operated company that has changed the way the public view sushi by making it fast healthy food that everyone can enjoy, adults and children alike. We are now serving over 2 million customers a year & served our 10 millionth customer in June 2013.

W H AT I S S U S H I ? Many people think sushi means “raw fish” but it actually means “seasoned rice”. Sushi is a marriage of vinegared rice to other ingredients including chicken, beef, fish and vegetables.

7

GO SUSHI IN THE BEGINNING

From our first retail store, which opened in late 1999, and the second, which won Best Restaurant at the Brisbane Fine Food Festival in 2000, Go Sushi’s reputation has set standards that its competitors are trying to match. Incorporating the high standards, quality and service of a restaurant, with the latest Sushi Robot technology, Go Sushi has a proven and successful formula for both customers and Franchise Partners. No previous experience as a sushi chef is required for a Go Sushi franchise. Go Sushi now has over 35 franchised stores throughout Australia with many more planned each year. International Franchises are also underway with a number of countries under negotiation.

THE MARKET OPPORTUNITY

The takeaway & Quick Service Restaurant “QSR” food market is currently a massive $14.2 BILLION business in Australia. This market is set to grow even bigger to $15.5 BILLION by 2015. With a long term trend towards healthier food, sushi is now a significant part of this market & continues to grow. In cities, customer’s sushi tastes are becoming more sophisticated & our menu is ever changing to these tastes. In regional centres we are seeing a massive increase in popularity in sushi & this can be demonstrated by the enormous success of our new stores in Toowoomba, Albury, Whyalla, Bundaberg, Tamworth, Armidale and Bathurst. We are also witnessing the emergence of a gap in the market for delivering sushi products into offices, schools, hospitals & universities. We envisage this market to continue to grow & to become a $0.25 MILLION PER YEAR business for some of our stores.

We approached Go Sushi after seeing a gap in the market for sushi in Albury. Go Sushi then sprang into action. They found a great site for us, negotiated the lease, built the store, trained us and we opened our store just before Xmas 2010. We were obviously nervous about starting the new business: the capital outlay and potential risks involved. But the store has been a success! Our marketing activity has now kicked in, getting people , to know where we are. The support from Head Office has been fantastic. They’ve really supported us operationally. We’re certainly keen to look at a 2nd store in regional NSW very soon! ”

Mark & Kathy now own 3 Go Sushi Stores.

“We’ve now been Go Sushi Franchise Partners for 6 years. We had a successful Go Sushi business in Toowoomba but at the end of our lease we had to relocate.

The Go Sushi team were just fantastic, negotiating a new lease, designing and setting up a new store to protect our initial investment. Nothing was too much trouble to the head office team. We were obviously concerned about moving location but the new store has just gone from strength to strength.

“The store is growing so quickly” Mark Blake, April 2011

Our sales are increasing in double digits month on month, and year on year sales are up by over 20%. Our store is fully managed. We wanted a business that could ‘stand on its own two feet’ without us being there all the time, and give us a good passive income. Go Sushi is absolutely doing this and we are really pleased with our investment. So much so, we are looking for another location to do another Go Sushi.

take on our 1st Go Sushi & Kick! Juice Bars store. We loved the franchise, the product, the systems, the people but didn’t have access to enough finance. We don’t know of any other franchise system that offers this level of assistance to their Franchise Partners. It shows a genuine belief by Go Sushi in their business that they are prepared to offer this kind of assistance. The MTO program has helped us into our 1st store, and the stepping stone to our 2nd.

Please note: This example shows profit potential if your store is run well and efficiently and is no guarantee of profit from a Go Sushi store. We advise that you seek independent financial advice to determine whether joining the Go Sushi franchise system is right for you.

THE EFFECT OF INCREASED TURNOVER G E N E R A LT I N G E X P O N E N T I A L I N C R E A S E S I N N E T P R O F I T

As rent is a fixed cost, and Cost of Goods is a percentage of turnover (eg.30%) the key in significantly increasing profit is the relationship between turnover and staff costs.

eg. An additional $10,000 per month in turnover may not require any additional staff therefore NET profit will significantly increase.
