Fact Sheet India At Home India at Home does just that – brings a piece of India right into your home. Not only does India at Home allow you to fill your home with the sounds and smells of India with a huge range of cooking ingredients and musical instruments, it can also provide the sights of India, with a range of furniture, candles and other specialised Indian items. With ‘fast Indian food’ also available in store, that includes savoury meals and sweets, India At Home is serving the complete needs of the Indian food and grocery market – and providing a broad, robust business model at the same time. Not only does India at Home give its customers a true Indian experience by providing all they need and more, it also offers potential franchisees the opportunity to be a part of a successful business with a unique point of difference. After seeing a clear opportunity to play a key role serving the Australian marketplace in its growing demand for Indian culture and cuisine, India at Home was established in 2003. Initially importing and wholesaling products such as Indian savoury’s and sweets, ready to eat food, Indian cosmetic lines, incense sticks, natural green tea and more, the business soon expanded their product line. With demand growing for Indian cuisine, this product expansion also brought about a move beyond just wholesaling, with the opening of a dedicated Indian grocery retail store in Dandenong, Melbourne in 2006. With further outlets opening in quick succession, India At Home has now blossomed to include nine retail stores throughout Australia, making it one of the fastest growing Indian retail businesses in the country. Across these stores, and with several of its own branded products, the level of growth and consumer acceptance of the brand means it is now firmly looking to expand across the country. With the backing of an established brand, a solid and proven import and wholesale history, a network of suppliers, a tried and tested system of support readily available from its team at head office, India at Home offers everything a customer and a potential business owner could need.
