ROVE SCHOOL PROJECT JUNIOR YEAR DURATION: 4 MONTHS
INSPIRATION The first parking meter was installed in 1935 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It was a great way for the city to collect money in exchange for the right to park.
PROBLEM A Many times coins get stuck in the coin mechanism, not allowing the use of the parking meters for days. Additionally meter screens get blurred making it hard for the user to know the status of the machine.
PROBLEM B Meters get filled up pretty quickly making them jam and be out of order more often.
BEHIND THE DESIGN The Rove was inspired by modern architecture, and how buildings are made to endure in the worst conditions. Rove has a wide base at the bottom giving it a solid structure, a 17 interactive screen for the connection with people and a solar panel on the top for its power.
ROVE The Rove is a parking meter that not only processes your parking fee but also interacts with you to get the best out of the city you are in. Rove works with Google and Yelp to show you the most of your surroundings. Roves around the city are synced together with a phone app in case you need more time for your parking spot or another recommendation.
TECHNOLOGY Parking meters are exposed to the elements and to vandals on a daily basis. Protection of the device and its cash contents is a priority; Rove uses NFC technology for a fast and safer transaction. NFC enables smartphones and other devices to establish a wireless connecton alowing you to make transactions.

THE KLUNKER SCHOOL PROJECT SOPHOMORE YEAR DURATION: 4 MONTHS
INSPIRATION The first Klunker was designed in the 1980’s in Marin county by a well known group of cycling enthusiasts. It was a very simple design with a solid geometry. The whole idea was to grab some courage and just roll down the mountain hoping to have a cold one when you got to the bottom.

BEHIND THE DESIGN Following the same philosophy as the original, this Klunker design utilizes innovative geometry and updated technology to become the perfect allmountain machine.
WHEEL DIAMETER A 27.5 (650B) wheel diameter and a 150mm front suspension travel give the bike the latest technology for an awesome experience.
SLIDE DROPOUTS This gives you the option between single speed or gears.
INNOVATION
e
Nothing better than knowing that your buddies are waiting for you with a cold one. The Kluker includes a bottle opener for those precious moments.
