Hi! I'm Frank Hsu.
m a junior student majors in industrial design from Taiwan Cheng-Kung university. As a future designer, I'm curious about everything cluding different culture, technology, relationship between human... After study in industrial design for 3 years, I find out that perience is the key to improve our daily life. Thus, I try to create no matter better, novel, unprecedented experience to rich me and ur life. It's my pleasure to show my design to you. Wish you enjoy and have more inspiration!

Hypertension Life
In Taiwan, hypertension is one of the top ten causes of death. It can cause complications including myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular accident, kidney failure... that will easily take lifes. And it's not only about the patients, but also their family, doctor. They have to spend lot of time take care of them because they are "Fragile". So we discuss that...
How can we improve the life of hypertension? How can we make a more relaxable not intensive life style?
Research & Analyze In our research, we found that there are many details hypertension patients should pay attendtion. So we come up with this cycle to protect and care the patients. Measure the blood pressure and record it. To track the recent health of the patient. TRACK
APP
PREVENT
Avoid high level of salt that really cause patients to a dangerous situation.
URGENT Measures in the events of emergency. That will help patient call for help.
Point of View Let hypertension patients no longer live in a uneasy and unsure life. Let their family, doctor be more relieved.
9
So their three things that we should design: -Track the blood pressure data.(SPPAD) -Prevent high salt intake. -Call for help when emergency happened.
S P HYG M O M E T E R PA D
Track with Habit
In our the research, the best time of measuring blood pressure are after waking up and before going to bed. It's the same time with using night light. So we combine this two product with patients' habit. Make it a best motivation to them. And we make it easier to get the data with the technology.

Cooking or Not
When it comes to cooking in person, there are lots of steps to make a great meal. So I tried to find something interesting point that I can take part of it, especially I am also a lover of cooking. I am thinking about how could a meal your made perfectly place on the table, and it definitely about the cooking process. If there is any obstacle in the cooking process, it may cause frustration and let you don't want to cook next time. So I decide to create a cookware that would help you have a smooth experience of cooking.

In order to understand and be familiar with design
methods, our teacher make us to make a interactive service for final work. At first, it's hard to decide a subject. We found out that we were interesting in things that relate with college students' life, so we wrote down the problem that we may encounter in our daily life. Discuss the proper problem with developmental and importanance. Finally, we want to solve the problem when students shopping in the cloth store alone. Make it a more smooth and no-trouble process.

However there are many kinds of students that would go to the cloth store. We dicuss many of the details and come up with thess four Personas.

Fixed gear accessory design

With the teacher specailizing in bicycle manufacturing, our class choose certain accessory of bicycle to design. Although I am not a cycle-lover, I still like to listen the bicyclist sharing their own story, bike or even some problem. In my research, I found that there's lots of accessories that biker would take when they start a ride, like helmet, gloves, shoes, small tool box for repairing, water bottle, keys and the most important thing, their bike. These are the basic item they would carry in a simple journey. After the journey, accessories and bike must storage in a brighter place for the next journey. This is why rack exist, for rider who wants their accessories stay in neat and easy to carry out. So I decided to create a bike rack that could easily put on the and storage the accessories.
Certain bike rack in real life.
35
Fixed gear accessory design
After some research of the bike-rake production, I found that the rack can be classified as multifunctional and single functional. Like I said before, the multifunctional is for the rider to put on his accessories and storage them. The single one only is used to storage the bike or the frame, due to the rider had not merely one bike. Howerverm the same problem with both of them is that certain of the design is hard to install. Thus, I decided to create a bike rack that is multifunctional and easy to install.

And I make a real scale of the curve that carry the bike rack to prove my imagination is appropriate and suitable. I also make a install instruction that is easy to install in one person. With the experiment, I trust that it would we can have a good experience in installing is-rack.

With the callaboration with CHIMEI home application, we had to improve a kind of application with Lean Product Development. It's quiet a different design process from the way I had learned. In addition to the research, sketch, idea generation(that we are familiar with), we have to compete with the products in reality which are on the shopping shelf now. After all, it's a hard time but useful Industry-university cooperation.

After a small searched and understood the products, We choosed the steam iron from philips(GC-1440) , a application that is pretty old(with the same appearance in almost 20 years). We wanted to create the brand new style and function to the Steam Iron!

In order to design a useful application in reality, we interviewed 20 customers who have the steam iron at home(whether having a habit to use it or not) and also loved the style of MUJI and UNIQLO. To discover the problems and insights in the process of ironing the clothes. We also recorded the process to review so that we could notice more details in the interview. After the interviews, we found that people are in troubles when using the steam iron(even the expert). Some of them couldn't find the switch(actually it doesn't have but they are really curious about it). Some of them even forgot to fill the water(Hey! it's a steam iron). We had a strong interest and wanted to dig more deeper.

Through the interviews, we had found lots of key events including problems and specific behaviors, but what's the most vital portion that customers care about? Is that the questions we observe truely a question for users? We wanted to know if we were correct . We collected and organized the questions and set it into questionaire. Posted it on internet and asked the public's feedba ck.

Que s t i o n n a i re During the interview, we got lots of key events but they were too dispersed and not completely. Thus, we classified them to several categories which named as before ironing, ironing, after ironing. Each part has several subjects and details to describe them. Then, since we wanted to know if it's a normal problems or behaviors for most of the users. We created a questionaire to understand which suffers or appearsthe users the most. Therefore, we could found the most valuable problem we should first solve and maximum the benefit of design process.
