How to install INSET SINKS For installation of Inset sinks into MDF type work tops

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

6.

Trace the cut out template onto the work top. The template is included in the packaging as a perforated tear out.

Drill holes into work top at each corner of the marked area to allow for easy cutting of the MDF.

Follow the lines of the template and cut worktop with a jigsaw.

To ensure that the worktop is water resistant, seal inside edge of cut out with a resin and hardener compound.

Allow to dry until the compound forms a silicone like surface on the cut area to prevent swelling of the MDF in the event of water seepage.

Fix clips to sink. Ensure there are a minimum of 4 clips on either length side of the sink.

Remove screws from each clip so that the sink will fit perfectly into the cut out. These screws will then be re-attached to the sink clip, working from the underside of the work top.

Generously apply silicone onto folded edge of sink and along the edge of the cut out. Silicone acts as glue and further prevents water seeping underneath the work top.

Attach screws to clips and tighten to its maximum tension. The tightening ensures that the sink is pulled down firmly onto the work top preventing the sink from lifting at the edges and bowing.

How to install SINK MIXERS * It is recommended that sink mixers be installed by a registered plumber

Ceramic disc cartridges mix best where the water pressure does not exceed 400kPa. Always plumb hot water to the left hand side and cold water to the right hand side. Ensure that the water system is balanced.

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

6.

Turn off the water supply before commencing installation

Basic components are: Mixer, two flexible hoses (blue for cold and red for hot water), circular rubber gasket, fixing plate, plastic brace (when applicable), back nut & metal brace

Fix flexible hoses to the mixer by screwing flexible hoses to the base of the mixer. Note: Check that the “O” ring at the top end of each flexible hose is in position. If there is no “O” ring present the tap will leak. (flexible hoses can be screwed in by hand)

With the front of the mixer facing you, attach the hot (red) flexible water hose on the left of the brass rod and the cold (blue) flexible hose to the right.

Slip the circular rubber gasket over the flexible hoses which will sit at the base of the mixer.

Feed the flexible hoses through punched tap hole and lower the mixer onto the tap landing of the sink.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Inox Cream 250g Tube Cleans, Shines, Polishes And Revitalises Stainless Steel.

Product Code: 1120047 CLEANING PROCEDURE Clean the Stainless Steel as often as experience dictates (i.e. when noticeably dull or dirty) and use the simplest cleaning procedure that will effectively “do the job”. -- Stainless Steel reacts best to clean water or mild detergent solution, applied with a soft cloth or sponge, rinsed well and wiped dry. -- Routine, simple, gentle and inexpensive cleaning will retain both the corrosion resistance and appearance of Stainless Steel through years of exposure and use. Occasionally a small amount of Inox Creme may be used on a soft, damp cloth with the detergent solution to remove stubborn dirt or slight incipient stains. Rub gently. CLEANING DO’S -- Employ regular routine cleaning rather than an occasional aggressive single cleaning. -- Only use propriety brands of cleaners that state “SUITABLE FOR STAINLESS STEEL”, such as Inox Creme -- Always rinse and dry as the final step in a cleaning procedure. CLEANING DON’TS Do not use coarse abrasive powders. Do not use metallic scourers or brushes with metal bristles. Do not use the so termed “silver cleaners”. Do not use acids (except nitric acid in specific instances).

-----

STORAGE OF PRODUCTS Product research has proven that certain household products which may be stored underneath a sink, can lead to damage of the sink’s base. Chlorine is the major culprit and can be found in: chlorine for swimming pools; household bleach; bathroom cleaning products such as toilet cleaners, mildew treatments and tile cleaners; kitchen cleaning products - especially liquid cleaners; powders for dishwashers and laundry detergents. Preserve the life and beauty of your sink by storing these products away from the sink area in a well ventilated cupboard that is preferably child-proof.
