Ewere 1 Frank E. COM 3500 4/24/15 Instructions on how to create labels in Word 1. Create a set of data in Microsoft Excel. Include several placeholders like “First_Name,” Middle_Initial,” “Address01,” etc… These placeholders should be included in the top row of the excel spreadsheet. 2. Next open up Microsoft Word and go to the mail merge manager under tools. 3. Under create new, choose label products that fit your needs. 4. Next, go to the get list option and choose open data source. 5. In the sample label box that appears, click each placeholder field item and put it where it needs to be (first_name and last_name at the top, address in the next line, city in the next line, etc…). 6. Next go to add or replace placeholders on labels (third option on get list row) and make sure everything is ok. 7. Go to the complete merge option and select the first printer option under complete merge (merge to printer). 8. Save the labels as a pdf and as word file.
