Franklin College is committed to keeping education affordable for all students by offering a wide range of scholarship and financial aid opportunities. In fact, 96 percent of our students received some form of financial assistance last year, totaling over $26 million. The Admission and Financial Aid offices are always willing to answer questions and meet with you and your family to guide you through the process. To get you started, we’ve outlined the basic financial aid information here. Reminder: To be fully eligible for aid, you must apply for admission by Dec. 1. Ben Franklin Scholar? Students who have a 3.9 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale with an SAT score at or above 1860 or an ACT score at or above 28 will be the most competitive candidates for top academic scholarships. Ben Franklin Scholar programs are by invitation only, and students interview for awards ranging from $18,000 to full-tuition. Applications must be postmarked by Dec. 1 for consideration.

Pulliam Journalism Scholarship

By invitation only. Must apply by Dec. 1. A GPA at 3.0 or above is required.

Fine Arts Awards

Available for students interested in music, art and theatre

Alumni Grants

Awarded to entering students who have a parent, grandparent, sibling, aunt or uncle who graduated from Franklin College

Out-of-State Grants

Awarded to admitted out-of-state applicants

NOTES Students must maintain a satisfactory academic progress to renew.

Only available to students awarded an academic scholarship ranging from $7,000 - $16,000.

Students must be enrolled in a journalism program to renew. Selection criteria may include previous performance activities, an interview or audition. These must be completed by March 10.

Students must apply by Dec. 1.

Students must apply by Dec. 1 to receive the full award. After Dec. 1, awards may range from $1,000 – $4,000.

All Franklin College scholarships and grants are renewable for a maximum of eight semesters (fall/spring) of full-time enrollment.


APPLYING FOR ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS • Submit a completed Franklin College application for admission and provide all requested materials. • Students, once admitted, will receive scholarship notification on a rolling basis. • The Office of Financial Aid will provide updated merit scholarships through the December SAT and ACT testing period.

APPLYING FOR need-based assistance Need-based Franklin College grants of varying amounts are awarded to entering students dependent upon their level of demonstrated financial need. In order to be considered for need-based assistance, follow the steps below: • File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) electronically at fafsa.ed.gov by March 10 for maximum aid eligibility. • Make sure to list the Franklin College code: 001798. • O nce we receive your FAFSA results, we will customize a financial aid package for you beginning March 1.

After May 1, all Franklin College awards are not guaranteed.
