Frankston is easy to reach by direct roads and motorways. Travel from Melbourne via EastLink tollway for easy driving or follow the route closer to the coast along Nepean Highway. Explore the area at your own pace, either in your own car or hire one from the various major outlets in the city. Taxis are also readily available.
Frankston has an extensive network of bike trails and shared paths. These are cleverly woven throughout the city, making Frankston ideal to explore under your own steam.
By public transport – trains, buses and ferries The Frankston Transit Interchange in the heart of the city makes catching trains and buses a breeze. Trains depart for Melbourne CBD every 10 to 20 minutes. The Stony Point line also links to Frankston and trains run a number of times a day. An extensive public bus network operates throughout the Mornington Peninsula. A regular ferry across Port Phillip Bay links Geelong and Great Ocean Road to the Mornington Peninsula. The 40 minute crossing from Queenscliff to Sorrento saves time, distance and is a fabulous way to experience the bay whether you travel as a foot passenger or by car. Keep your eye out because inquisitive dolphins often swim alongside. Inter Island Ferries connect from Stony Point to French Island and Phillip Island (Cowes) across Western Port Bay. 4

This specially designed chair enables you to go to the beach and into shallow water. A second person must accompany the user. The accessible wheelchair is available free for loan at the Frankston Visitor Information Centre, 7 days from 9am–5pm.
