Vegetables are ripening in gardens and fields, and surely you are ready to eat some fresh peas, beans, squash, tomatoes. Remember when families would gather, and engage in the art of canning or preserving vegetables to feed their families across the winter months? Well, consuming locally grown foods using the above methods helped Antioch and surrounding communities develop healthy families. Therefore, we extend an opportunity to reconnect and learn how to preserve vegetables on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, 6 pm at Antioch M. B. Church, 110 Antioch Road, Waynesboro, MS, 39167. We are inviting the entire family over to Antioch to learn how to improve your family health through canning.
