Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for us to resurrect our canning skills. If, you can remember 40 years ago, we would congregate on the front porch and shell peas, beans and chute corn to help feed our families across the winter months. This process would allow grandmothers to share canning recipes and folklores about the family’s legacy. The Winston County Self Help Cooperative along with their friends in Jasper County will present an old fashion canning workshop to rekindle hope in this fleeting art. You are invited to participate on Monday, July 24th, 6 p.m. at Mama’s Kitchen to change your family health through the consumption of preserved locally grown fruits and vegetables.
