The month of October is designated as “Fire Safety Month” in the state of Mississippi. “Hence, we should educate and inform families about house fire hazards to help reduce the loss of life” according to Deacon Bennie Edwards. In fact, Mississippi leads the nation in, in-home fire fatalities and we are approaching the season where individuals will be using their heating sources for the first time in several months. Therefore, we want families to learn how to reduce fire risk by participating in the Union Chapel M.B. Church Fire Safety Awareness Seminar on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, @ 5:30 pm, 142 Union Chapel Road, Louisville, MS.” Kenny Mayo, Fire Chief & Anthony Jernigan, Assistance Chief of Highpoint Fire Department will present.
