Frank Webster Paintings from Iceland
In the Spring of 2016 the painter Frank Webster spent time at the Nes Artist Residency in Skagaströnd, a small town in Northwest Iceland. During this time, Webster commenced a series of paintings depicting the strange and ethereal landscape of northern Iceland. These paintings are based on rambles in the mountains and valleys of the isolated Skagi Peninsula and the surrounding region. Frank Webster is a New York based artist. He received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and his MFA from the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University. Webster also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. He is the recipient of numerous awards including most recently the 2015 NYFA Fellowship in Painting and the Pollock Krasner Individual Artist Grant in 2013.
