Save the Date

Saturday 25th November, 2017 This years Shell Cove Christmas party will be held at Freya Court Reserve on Saturday November 25th. It will be a great day for all the family with Santa, a sausage sizzle, heaps of fun & games and free ice cream, and plenty more. All residents welcome! Please mark your diary. More details to come.

Woolworths Coming to The Waterfront It’s now official! Woolworths is now on board as anchor tenant for the new neighbourhood shopping centre that will commence the first stage of the Town Centre for The Waterfront. Construction of stage one of the Centre comprising a 4,450 square metre retail precinct is scheduled to start shortly, with the official opening by the end of 2018. The 3,800 square metre full-line Woolworths supermarket will be complemented by 9 specialty retailers, with several strong local landmarks such as a lively piazza, public art showcased in the main street and landscaped public spaces creating a vibrant sense of place. The second stage of the Town Centre, currently in the design phase, is a

mixed-use dining precinct that will include three storeys of apartments above restaurants and cafes. The apartments will enjoy an outlook across the marina and easy access to the amenity of an active boat harbour. The restaurants will include alfresco dining linking to the harbour foreshore and timber boardwalk. Stage two is expected to be completed by the end of 2019, at which point the boat harbour and marina are expected to be in operation. Continued page 2.

Woolworths Senior Development Manager Colin Graham said he was looking forward to bringing one of Australia’s most modern supermarkets to the area. “Local residents in Shellharbour will soon have access to a modern full-range Woolworths supermarket with all the usual features our customers have come to expect, including an extensive fresh fruit and vegetable section, a full production bakery on-site, a great deli offer, a wide choice of healthy options and a huge range of grocery items at great prices,” Mr Graham says. “The Shellharbour area is growing fast and we look forward to working alongside Frasers Property, Council and the community to deliver this long-awaited retail development.”

In addition to Woolworths, which will incorporate a BWS store, Frasers Property and Shellharbour City Council are targeting a mix of retailers for the specialty tenancies such as cafes, a hairdresser, fresh food retailers and other key local services. Initial discussions have commenced for the leasing of the specialty retail tenancies with a variety of local businesses already expressing interest. For leasing inquiries at The Waterfront, Shell Cove contact Tim Moore, General Manager Retail Leasing, Frasers Property Australia on 0418 964 796.

often you get to be involved in the design of a boat harbour and marina! Let alone the opportunity to work with some of Australia’s leading architects, engineers, urban designers, landscape and play designers as part of a team bringing all the varied elements together in a cohesive and considered way.

What is it that you find most exciting about the overall development?

If you were talking to a resident, what would you tell them they can look forward to?

The marina, and the features that we have designed into the harbour edge. I am most looking forward to watching kids play in the harbour beach, or to take a walk out on the breakwall, to discover public art elements along an interpretive trail, or to have a family lunch at the Waterfront Tavern overseeing the water. From a design perspective, what is it that makes The Waterfront so special? It is incredible to be able to work on a project of this scale, and with so many varied elements. It’s not

If I was talking to a resident, I would ask them if I can move in! There are so many things to look forward to as The Waterfront evolves, in particular how the public domain will eventually take on a life of its own with markets, events on the boat harbour’s edge, cruises leaving from the harbour jetty, a Sunday lunch in The Waterfront tavern, and more! All within a spectacular environment where you can watch your kids grow, or just settle in, relax and enjoy the lifestyle. It’s the kind of place you won’t ever want to leave!

Boat Harbour Under Full Sail! The past few months have seen a flurry of activity with the boat harbour now taking final shape. Excavation of the inner harbour has been completed and construction of the edge treatment work is almost 95% complete, whilst construction of the boardwalks and jetty (excluding the decking planks) is about 60% complete. In other boat harbour news, the contract for the design and construction of the marina berths is about to be awarded, with the winning company to be announced

soon. It is anticipated that the installation of piles will commence late 2017. The core rock for the breakwater (small rock at the centre of the structure) has been completed to end (Chainage 467) and the first stage of the large armour rocks is progressing. Construction of the public boat ramp is underway and once complete will provide one of the safest blue water ramps in the region.

Sales Update

Sanderling and Sails Releases Sell Out! Demand for land and homes at Shell Cove remains as strong as it has ever been, as the sell out success of our two most recent releases shows. The Sanderling Land Release of 31 prime landlots, located within walking distance to the future world class marina sold out on the morning of release, with a quick postcode survey of buyers showing that around 75% were local and from the Illawarra district, sure testimony to the popularity and reputation of the Shell Cove residential community throughout the South Coast. Similarly, The Sails Townhome Release, comprising 14 architecturally designed Townhomes in a premiere location close to The Waterfront, was also a Day One sell out success.
