NEIGHBOURING SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT UPDATE
Dear Resident,
Homes Victoria, part of the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, has recently released more information on the redevelopment of the two social housing buildings fronting Elgin Street and Nicholson Street in Carlton.
As these buildings neighbour your property, we want to ensure you’re aware of the latest information Frasers Property is liaising with Homes Victoria’s engagement team, and we have been provided the information below. We will have regular briefings with Homes Victoria so we can ensure we keep you updated with the latest information relating to the redevelopment.
Homes Victoria’s community engagement process begins this month, and a community consultation committee is scheduled to be formed in July.
There are two community consultation sessions currently planned:
• Thursday 27 June 10am - 12noon at the Church of All Nations (180 Palmerston Street, Carlton VIC); and
• Saturday 29 June 10am - 12noon at “Our Place” Carlton Primary School (150 Palmerston Street, Carlton VIC)
You can also take part in the community consultation online now until July 10. The form to submit an Expression of Interest for the consultation committee is on this site.

Construction complete, residents move in
We have been advised that works will be undertaken during normal construction hours (7:30am - 4:00pm), while no demolition work is to be undertaken on Saturdays. We have also been told residents will be provided a point of contact at Homes Victoria.
As background, Homes Victoria is planning to build a total of 231 modern, accessible, and energy efficient homes on these two neighbouring sites. These homes will replace the old 196 apartments in the red brick towers which are currently vacant
These new homes will be delivered through a partnership between the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments and are part of the Commonwealth Government’s Social Housing Accelerator Program.
The award-winning firm, Architectus, renowned for its approach to quality design has been appointed as the lead architect for Elgin Towers, Carlton.
