FAQs
Who is building the new town centre?
The new town centre is in the very capable hands of Empire Properties. This two-generation family business, owned by the Masalkovski’s, has more than 30 years’ experience constructing designer shopping villages, childcare and apartment buildings.
When will the shopping centre open?
The Grove just keeps getting better and soon families living here will have their own town centre. Construction is set to begin in the second quarter of 2024 and will take approximately two years. Before you know it, you will be able to explore this new thriving precinct.
Where are we at the moment?
Before works can begin, the developer of the town centre, Empire Properties, will need to go through an approvals process that generally takes 12 months. Empire Properties submitted a planning application in late 2022 and have recently been issued a planning permit so going by the usual time frame, development is on schedule.
How many stores will be provided?
Over 20 stores, cafes and services. There will be a Woolworths for grocery shopping, bakery, Anytime Fitness gym, Hungry Jacks, car wash, learn-to-swim school, Chemist Warehouse, greengrocer, medical facility, nail bar and pizza restaurant, among others.
What parking will be on site?
For most living at The Grove it will be a short walk from home. But if you’re doing your weekly shop, there will be approximately 300 parking spots. You can also have your vehicle cleaned while you shop, attend the gym, or grab a bite to eat.
How well will traffic be managed?
Specialist traffic engineers will be consulted during the design process. This will ensure flow without bottlenecks in, around, and out of the town centre, in accordance with council traffic policies and restrictions.
Where will the buses take you?
From the town centre, there’s public transport options too. Bus stops on each side of Bethany Road will connect commuters to Tarneit and Werribee Railway Stations. It’s great for family and friends visiting, and will help staff arrive to work on time or get home early.
What can we expect during construction?
A development like this will require trucks and machinery, along with some noise during construction hours that will comply with restrictions. Empire Properties is well experienced and will endeavour to ensure their builders and contractors keep noise and dust to a minimum as they deliver this all-important community infrastructure.
What about the reserve beside the town centre?
This space will become an inviting community park to add to the appeal of this hub. The planned reserve will include beautiful walking and bike paths connecting to the new town centre.
What else is happening?
Brinbeal Secondary College is well underway and on track to open for Term One 2024. Youngsters growing up at The Grove can walk to secondary school and home. And for families who have endured years of doing the school run in traffic or via public transport, this will save huge amounts of time and money.
Why move to a Frasers Property?
It’s what we’ve been doing since 1924: creating stronger, smarter, happier neighbourhoods that promise greater futures. Why not visit The Grove if you haven’t already done so, along with Mambourin or Berwick Waters, to see why the people who have made these places home feel so very proud.
