Every weekend Eat Street Northshore swells with locals and tourists looking for a good feed and a unique experience. These days, it’s more than just a night market filled with delicious food from across the globe – it’s an entertainment precinct, booming with light, flavour and culture.

“Peter was going to give it away, so she rang me and asked if I could come up with something to save the project. I came in and brought a friend of mine, Jackie McDonald, and my nephew John Harrison – who is a businessman – and we actually changed the whole concept,” Mr Stainton said.

Just over 3 years later, the popular markets relocated east due to the land they were occupying being sold. Although Mr. Stainton insists this was always the plan. “We were always going to move to the area we’re in now from day 1. It was just a matter of if we were going to fill the spot where we were. But when we become really popular it was obvious that we would go down to the wharf area,” he said.
