It was wonderful to meet so many neighbours at our drop-in session held onsite in August. We now have a greater understanding of what is important to the existing residents and it is wonderful to see that we align on these values in so many areas. We look forward to working through how we incorporate some of these thoughts into our new community design as we continue to make progress on our approval.
Our guiding principles remain the cornerstone for our consultants, ensuring we stay true to our vision of celebrating the unique Australian landscape, while introducing new outdoor spaces that encourage exploration and prioritise pedestrian, pet, and cycling accessibility throughout the community.
The construction of the Sales Office, road work on Mountain Ridge Road, and design details for the new bridge over the existing railway are all expected to begin in the coming months. To keep up to date on these important construction milestones, visit the website at newbeith.com.au

Talking landscape design
4 questions with Cindy and Matthew from Urbis Landscape Architecture who talk to their vision of embracing and amplifying the site's current identity to create a truly unique and exciting lifestyle for the future community.
1
What is your vision for the landscape design across this new community?
A rugged natural landscape in the heart of New Beith, Round Mountain embodies the idyllic nature of the Australian acreage lifestyle. The lush native foliage that covers the site and its surroundings is the driving force of this new neighbourhood design. This is what inspires our vision for the site, embracing and amplifying its current identity to create a truly unique and exciting lifestyle for the future community.
Our vision for the project is to work closely with Frasers Property to create a legacy for the benefit of the wider community. This community will be the jewel in the region, cradled by green, united by a mountain with smaller villages that take on their own identities.
2 What key landscape design fundamentals are Urbis applying to the New Beith site?
We are guided by the below principles:
• Active adventure – creating spaces that appeal to kids’ sense of adventure, encouraging learning and resilience, and celebrating play.
• A distinct connection to place – a focus to stimulate activity and encourage families to feel a connection to their neighbourhood, country and nature.
• A secure outlook – a sense of sanctuary and safety that provides peaceful enjoyment and peace of mind.
• Desirable, enduring and down-to-earth – community facilities that inspire individual pride and community togetherness.
• Nature’s hero – making the natural environment the hero, going the extra mile to nurture, sustain, and appreciate it.
• A balanced approach – practicing nature positive design, deep cultural layers, and community stewardship in meaningful and innovative ways.
3
What does success look like to you at this New Beith community?
As landscape architects, it’s super exciting to be part of creating a unique and sustainable residential community. We want to walk the walk. Setting specific and achievable goals and delivering a strong legacy for the site is crucial in creating a thriving vibrant community around Round Mountain.
With a mixture of sustainability, stewardship, and reconciliation goals, the site will have the opportunity to continue and improve upon the current initiatives in the area.
4
How will landscape design create opportunities for community connection at New Beith?
Building a strong sense of community is crucial for creating and sustaining a successful neighbourhood, and thoughtful landscape design plays a vital role in this. Landscapes connect the community, linking public spaces like Round Mountain with communal parks, neighbourhood precincts, semi-private streetscapes, and private backyards. With every home just a three-minute walk from various green spaces, the natural environment will become a key part of community life.
By recognising and embracing the site’s potential, and prioritising walkability, connectivity, and green spaces, new opportunities for social interaction and connection will emerge. Enhancing green edges along precinct streets will bring nature closer to residents, while parks, playgrounds, and sports fields will further integrate intentional green spaces into local neighbourhoods, creating natural hubs for community engagement.

Construction Update
Transforming a greenfield site into a residential community is a challenging task, one that requires a strong vision and a collaborative, passionate team to deliver on this vision. There are important design considerations as well as various federal, state and local authority approvals, and on-site logistics that need to be navigated.
By the end of 2024, we are targeting commencement of works on the temporary Sales Display and event space, which will be used for community activations. Shortly after this, we will be working through upgrading the road infrastructure and bridge over the rail line, which will unlock access to the site via the existing Mountain Ridge Road. Once this is complete, and with timing dependent on federal approvals, works will commence on the internal Mountain Ridge Road extension, which is the entrance boulevard to the development, allowing access to the first stages of housing.

Sales & Display Centre
Works for our new Sales and Display Centre, as well as our outdoor community space are due to commence in late 2024 for completion in time for project launch in mid-to-late 2025. Sitting on a 1-hectare rural residential lot east of the site, this area will be embellished with lush native landscaping, a bubbling creek, active community gardens, bee hives and a turf oval for community events. Central to the site is the Sales Display, which will offer the opportunity for future residents to learn about our new community.
Mountain Ridge Road Upgrade
Upgrade works to the existing Mountain Ridge Road will occur west of Pebble Creek Way, up to Pennine Drive, and are due to commence in early 2025. The upgrade works will be delivered on behalf of Logan City Council, catering for increased traffic movements along the road resulting from the new community. Works are anticipated to take approximately 6-months and will be undertaken in such a way as to minimise impact to existing residents on the street.
Rail Bridge & Approach
Pending approvals, construction works on the bridge over the existing rail line west of Mountain Ridge Road are anticipated to commence in early 2025, for a duration of approximately 8-months.
Completion of the bridge connection will see access to our new residential community in order to commence on-site civil works.
Development Site (Infrastructure & Civil Works)
Internal to the site, we will extend Mountain Ridge Road west of the bridge, which will create the entry boulevard to the project, linking to our first intersection (future North/South connector road to New Beith) and our first stage of land lots. The first stages of civil works will prioritise delivery of approximately 154 new land lots, which are anticipated to launch to market in mid-to-late 2025. The civil works consist of several different steps that will ultimately lead to the creation of new streets, land lots and landscapes areas.

Neighbourhood Meet & Greet
It was lovely to meet so many neighbours of the surrounding community at our drop-in session held in August. Building connected and passionate communities is a priority for Frasers Property, with the purpose of this event to build relationships, understand the values of our neighbours, and understand the ideas and sentiment around our New Beith project.
It was heartwarming to hear the nostalgic memories shared by long-time residents, including the unique ‘jumping-timber’ sounds of people crossing Abrade Creek Bridge, visits from the local emu, recollections of families enjoying bush walks up Round Mountain, and building huts by the creek.
The insights and questions we received on the day were invaluable, ensuring we develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of the local area, and the hopes of what we can achieve in the new community. Below is a snapshot of what we gathered from those who attended.
