COGNAC

& PINEAU DES CHARENTES

Eau de Vintage is the result of love. Love for this region, love for the

business, but above all love for the product. Who have thought that blending Cognac eau-de-vie with grape juice, would create an extraordinary nectar – Pineau des Charentes. We are a young company that is deep rooted to Cognac region. We pursue values like tradition, excellence, savoir-faire, quality, terroir, and our products are the reflection of this quest, not only our Pineau but

also the selection of Vintage Cognac we have in our portfolio. We spent years traveling around the world learning about Wine and Spirits, discovering new people, absorbing different cultures, customs and tastes, looking for something special, something unique, something that could awake the senses and take us to another dimension. But we had to come back home to found it. Cognac is where we live, where men and women work in the vineyards day after day to produce the best of themselves, the best from their ancestral savoir-faire transmitted through generations, and we are proud of it. Our goal is to make the spirits handcrafted by small independent produ cers from the region known and appreciated beyond borders, since such treasures should

Domaine de Landon Since 1867, in the entrance of a typical village from Cognac region, six generations have perpetuated the love of doing the spirit of the region, truly respecting the local traditions. Nowadays, the direct descendant, Stéphane Aupit, keeps the legacy and produces one of the most interesting Pineau des Charentes of the region.

Entering Domaine de Landon is like travelling in time, travelling to another century… Everything is done in a very hand-craft way: the oldest and smallest still pot (3,70 hl) in all Cognac region is still in use! Until few years ago, charcoal and wood were still used for the distillation process. In Eau de Vintage, we do look for these values which make great people, great products.

Pineau des Charentes Blanc Colour: A deep amber colour with bright golden hints. Nose: A fresh and delicate nose of vanilla and dry grapes notes. Mouth: A rich texture with a long finish persisting on the fruit. Simply elegant. First Pineau in the world winning an international award

Pineau des Charentes Rouge Colour: An intense rosé colour, turning almost to red. Nose: A nose full of expression with its powerful aromas of grapes, mulberry and dry plums. Mouth: Complex in mouth, beautiful harmony between its roundness and its delicacy.

Michel Forgeron The Michel Forgeron’s estate is in the hands of family for the last 105 years. Meanwhile, Michel Forgeron decided to bring a new sparkle in the Cognac & Pineau des Charentes world by investing and experimenting to improve the quality of its products. Nowadays, his two sons, Christophe & Pierre, manage this family business from the work in the vineyard to the art of blending, passing by the mastery of the distillation. Entirely located in Grande Champagne, the different vineyards totalise about 24 hectares in a 5km radio around the property, 30% in hills and 70% in plains. Mainly planted with Ugni-Blanc, Christophe & Pierre decided some years ago to resuscitate an old grape variety in the foreground: the Folle Blanche. These two passionate brothers highlight the real diversity of their terroir and make a point of honour by testing new methods and procedures in order to show all the extraordinary possibilities of Cognac & Pineau des Charentes. In Charente, we say that swallows announce the beginning of the spring season when they migrate from the south to the north. At that time, you can see an impressive flight of swallows over Michel Forgeron’s vineyards. This is why the family Forgeron decided to be represented by the swallow, this forwarding sign of the terroir rebirth. Through their range of products, Michel Forgeron and its sons express their inventiveness, their respect for traditions and their sense of the job well done.

In Eau de Vintage, we do look for these values which make great people, great products.

Range Cognac La Salamandre A lot of myths and legends refer that the salamander comes from the same family as the Dragons. For centuries, this incredible creature had been chosen as royalty coat of arms, in order to highlight the strenghts and courage of kings. In the french monarchy, the one to use the salamander as the symbol of his power was King François 1st who was born in… Cognac! This king has a strong impact in french history, especially in its culture, since he was the one who introduced Rennaissance period by inviting Leonardo Da Vinci to come in France. This legendary animal is messenger of good values such as perseverence, success and invulnerability. It explains why it has always been very present in popular believes. Among them, it says that excellent and outstanding people are compared to the salamander. That is why the Salamander is used as a symbol of this range: this is a Cognac for outstanding people, people with no fear of being different. This range was developed with the idea of apprehending the Cognac world without complex, with a fun, fresh and trendy packaging. Destinated for long night parties, this original range of Cognac will catch the eye of young counsumers.

Michel Forgeron Range Cognac Classic Created in 1965 by Michel and Francine Forgeron, this range has a special place in the heart of the family. It offers an historical dimension since this line of Cognac has been transmitted from generations to generations with the same passion. Coming from their 24 hectares vineyard located in the prestigious Grande-Champagne cru, the Forgeron family has succeeded to produce a range of Cognac at their image: simply excellent. The philosophy of the Michel Forgeron estate is based on being engaged to a sustainable viticulture which respects environment. The Forgeron family follows each step of the vinification and distillation process within their estate to guarantee the high quality of their eaux-de-vie. These Cognacs have also a particularity: they are stronger and more concentrated than those produced by mainstream producers. Indeed, the level of alcohol improves the specificities of the eaux-de-vie : it brings special flavours and characteristics. The family Forgeron does not add to much water during the reduction to really preserve the personality of their eaux-de-vie. You will discover some qualities at 43%, 45% alc. or even higher, which have conserved all their aromatic richness. The Gamme Classique presents 7 differents Cognacs with an ageing from 4 to more than 60 years, in order to make discover the beautiful evolution of this nectar. Traditional and elegant, this range has been thought in order to fit the differents occasions of consumption or gift through a wide assortment of formats.

Range Cognac Barriques Each year has its own characteristics in terms of sun exposure, temperature, rain precipitation, etc… that give a special character to the Cognac eaux-de-vie. The weather variations from one year to another distinguish one Cognac from another, especially in Cognac millésimés which do not benefit of blending. Only one cask expresses the particularity of a specific year. Vintages in Cognac appellation are not common. The idea of the Forgeron family was to bottle thoses specificities to understand the evolution of Cognac and to make them discover to a large public. This is why this Barrique range was born from their desire of sharing and transmitting the fruit of the past generation’s work. For Cognac, ageing is part of the mystery. Time provides a complex aromas evolution and a delicate structure. All the vintages are at 47% of alcohol content, since the family chose to keep a certain level of alcohol to preserve the characteristics of each year and the authenticity of their Cognac. Once you taste them, the Barrique range associate a beautiful drinking experience with an unforgetable event or moment in your life. Barrels available: 65 – 68 – 74 – 75 – 79 – 84 – 87 – 88 – 89 – 90 – 91 – 92 – 93 – 94 – 95 – 96 – 97

Pierre Lecat This range of Cognac (VS, VSOP, XO) has been created by a new generation who have combined their passion, consistency and precision with an inherited treasure of knowledge to create a work of art. Every stage of the process is looked at very closely, with great attention to detail. This producer does not use pesticide or insecticide on his 23 hectares of vineyard. Volume is not of the essence, they clearly claim themselves as artisans of Cognacs. Close to the Charente valley, the vines are well ventilated and benefits from a good climate (seldom rain, temperate spring and warm summer) that will prove beneficial to the character of their eaux-de-vie. The rich flavors and aromas of these Cognacs are the result of the use of the Lees during distillation and an expert construction, which was slowly developed over the years in cool dark cellars. Timing is everything. In order to have the best maturation possible, it is essential to wait for the right moment. Both Cognac and watchmaking require patience; time can be counted in years, even decades. The universe around Cognac Pierre Lecat is naturally highlighted by its theme based on time and quality craft.
