Welcome to Blythewood

On behalf of all our area businesses and residents, the Greater Blythewood Chamber of Commerce welcomes you to one of SC’s fastest growing communities. Nestled in the rolling hills of the northeast corner of Richland County in the SC Midlands region, is just a one hour drive south of Charlotte, NC and 20 minutes north of Columbia, our state capital.

Our area offers wonderful outdoor amenities, including golf, tennis, equestrian sports, parks, hiking, hunting, fishing, and boating, with a heart for tourism, highly accredited Richland Two schools, a rich historical heritage; and an active and vibrant business community.

Located on a ridge separating the Broad River and Catawba River watersheds, we are home to the headwaters of several creeks that flow to both. The Catawba River flows into Lake Wateree, a popular recreation area just north of Exit 24 and only a 20-minute drive away, which then becomes the Wateree River, flowing southward until it connects with the Congaree River at the confluence of the famous Santee lakes and basin before reaching the Atlantic Ocean.

Exit 27 on Interstate 77 is the first entrance into Richland County and gateway to the metropolitan conveniences of our capital city to the south, and the entrance to the Olde English District of SC and Appalachian Corridor to our north.

With our wonderful location, natural scenic beauty, and friendly people, Blythewood is an outstanding community to live, work, and visit. We are proud of our community and dedicated to the success of our neighbors. Welcome to Blythewood!
