The City Planning Commission of the City of Albert Lea, MN will hold a public hearing regarding Airport Zoning on December 6, 2011, at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Center, 221 E. Clark Street, Albert Lea, MN. The purpose of the public hearing is to allow public comment on proposed changes to the Airport Zoning Ordinance which is incorporated into Chapter 74 of the City Code (Zoning Ordinance) beginning with Division 16, Section 74-831. Amendments to this ordinance are required because the north/south runway (17/35) has been extended from 4,500 feet to 5,000 feet and moved to the west of the current runway location. Properties affected by Air Space Obstruction Zoning are limited to the height of a structure at about 150 feet above ground level but not to exceed 1,411 feet above Mean Sea Level.
