ETS AWARDS AND THANKSGIVING CEREMONY

The ETS Awards and thanksgiving ceremony took place on Friday 12th May at St Columba’s Free Church of Scotland, Edinburgh .

The ceremony was an important opportunity for family and friends to see students receive recognition for their hard labour over the past academic year. Some rousing singing, prayer and a Bible reading were followed by a series of presentations to deserving students, some of whom were leaving ETS and moving on to a further chapter. Iver Martin then gave some reflections of the past year, paying tribute in particular to Rev Will Traub who had helped teach Old Testament for ten years and who was now in the process of returning to the USA.

Simon Rehberg and David Trimble were then given the platform, presenting their own uniquely humorous perspectives of what it was like to be students at ETS. The evening was rounded off with some concluding observations from Ephesians 3 from the Principal.

The ceremony has become one of the highlights in the ETS calendar where a good number of friends and supporters join with staff and students to celebrate the students’ hard work, encourage the work of the Seminary and unite in thanksgiving •
