YOGA
New!
Yoga Inversion Workshop
2 sessions, Sat. April 2, and Sat. April 16 Each session will be 2 hours 9:30-11:30 am. $80.00 for both sessions For a lot of people going upside can be scary and challenging. The intention of this workshop is to empower you to try a variety of inversions and arm balances during yoga classes. You will begin each session with a flowing powerful practice to warm up and after practicing skills, you will have the time to explore and work towards your fullest expression in a safe and supportive environment. In the end hopefully you will feel having your head below your heart is not as scary and that you enjoy the challenge. Detailed instructions will focus on arm balances like crow, side crow, flying pigeon, and hurdler’s pose in addition to inversions such as tripod, and classical bound headstand culminating in handstand.
It is with a sincere gratitude for yoga that David attempts to evoke an accessible and empowering environment for the student to experience what he believes is the healing nature of the practice. He hopes to encourage his students to keep returning to their mats, and to provide for them the space to explore, play and develop their own connections to themselves and their practice. David’s love of yoga is constantly renewed by his many teachers. His earliest teachers were the most foundational in creating a long and lasting relationship with yoga. He feels if he can share with you even a portion of what he has learned from these teachers, then it is well worth paying it forward.

David is very physically active outside of yoga, completing several marathons, triathlons, Ragnar Relays and dabbling in Crossfit. He is a Yoga Alliance certified RYT 200 with over two years of teaching experience. He loves to practice and to teach yoga for many reasons, but in particular because it is time where he gets to live fully in the present. He hopes you will come to his classes at the Freedom Center and potentially receive the same benefit. Megan has been in and out of yoga since 2008 but after wandering into a Power Yoga class at the Freedom Center she said something just clicked for her. A recent RYT-200, she hopes to assist her students with finding that “ah-ha!” moment by providing an empowering and confidence building environment for all. Megan truly believes that yoga is for everybody and that it is more about finding what feels good than perfection. When Megan is not on her mat she is active in the dance and the aerial arts community. She hopes that she can bring the same joy she feels in her practice to her students.
