Into the Woods by Katrinka

DIGITAL COLLECTION Delivering July 2021 24 SKUs The Into the Woods Collection takes inspiration from the beautiful nature surrounding my studio in South Carolina. I have developed such a fascination of nature! This collection was created by a hand printing technique called Eco printing; transferring natural pigment of leaves and flower petals onto fabric or paper. I love the “surprise and delight” that occurs when unwrapping the bounded pieces created by this process. The end result leaves a beautiful impression of nature’s beauty. I like to take my own spin on the technique by digitally manipulating each print, recoloring into an extraordinary color palette that entices you to make your own creations, whether it is a quilt, a piece of clothing, a wall hanging, or a beautiful landscape fabric art. DOUBLE BRUSHED FLANNEL Delivering July 2021 10 SKUs My new fabric line reminds me of growing up in Wisconsin. My dad owned land in the woods outside of town. The winters were all so pretty! My brothers, sister, and I loved playing in the new snow. A new snowfall freshened up the world, blanketed it, and made it sparkle. We had so much fun throwing snowballs, building forts, making snow angels, and sledding. It was a special day when we spotted a fox or a deer. At the end of the day, we warmed up by the fireplace with a cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows. I still love a snowy day and wanted to share that with you! @SuePennDesigns

DIGITAL COLLECTION Delivering July 2021 15 SKUs Madison One is William Reue’s inaugural fabric collection for FreeSpirit. The designs for the collection were inspired by his paintings of an elegantly slender residential tower visible from his architecture studio overlooking Madison Square Park in New York City. Bold, rich, and saturated with color, the designs seek to capture the ineffable complexity of light’s interaction with facets of the building’s geometry at different times of day. The collection was an experiment that explored the collisions between nature and the built world. Its intention was to describe visually what could not be expressed in words.
