Instructions

WOF = Width of Fabric; HST = Half Square Triangle

All seam allowances are 1⁄4” (.64cm) and pieces are sewn right sides together.

Note: If you received the fabric for the entire quilt top at one time, first cut Fabrics A-N into strips 43⁄4” x WOF. Follow all further cutting instructions as listed. Fabrics A, C, E, G, I, K and M cut: (2) 43⁄4” (12.07cm) squares

Four Patch Blocks 1. Sew a 31⁄2” (8.89cm) Fabric P strip set aside in Week 1 and a Fabric O strip and together along one long edge. Press towards Fabric P. Cut (12) 31⁄2” x 61⁄2” (8.89cm x 16.51cm) units. (Fig. 1)

Square in a Square Blocks 3. Sew a Fabric Q HST to the sides of a 43⁄4” (12.07cm) Fabric A square, centering the triangles on the square. Press the seam allowances towards the triangles. Sew Fabric Q HSTs to the top and bottom of the Fabric A square to complete (1) Fabric A Square in a Square Block 1 (61⁄2” (16.51cm) square). (Fig. 3) Fig. 3 Fig. 3

Make 1 Strip Set

Fabric Q, cut: (2) 37⁄8” x WOF (9.84cm x WOF) strip; sub-cut (18) 37⁄8” (9.84cm) squares, and cut along one diagonal into (36) HSTs. Set aside leftover partial strip for Week 4. Fabric R, cut: (4) 37⁄8” x WOF (9.84cm x WOF) strips; sub-cut (36) 37⁄8” (9.84cm) squares, and cut along one diagonal into (72) HSTs

Make 1 Square in a Squ Block 1

Cut 12 Q 3 1/2” A x 6 1/2” (8.89cm x 16.51cm)

Sew (2) 31⁄2” x 61⁄2” (8.89cm x 16.51cm) units together, rotating so fabrics alternate, matching the seams, and pressing the seam allowances to one side. Repeat to make (6) four patch blocks (61⁄2” (16.51cm) square). (Fig. 2) Fig. Fig.22

Fabric S: From (1) and (1) partial 37⁄8” (9.84cm) strips set aside in Week 1 and 2; sub-cut (12) 37⁄8” (9.84cm) squares, and cut along one diagonal into (24) HSTs Make 6 Four Patch Blocks

Sunset Colorway - Week 3 4.

Sew a Fabric Q HST to the left side of a 43⁄4” (12.07) Fabric A square and a Fabric S HST to the right side. Press the seam allowances towards the triangles. Sew a Fabric Q HST to the top and a Fabric S HST to the bottom of the square to complete (1) Fabric A Square in a Square Block 2 (61⁄2” (16.51cm) square). (Fig. 4) Fig. 4 Fig. 4

Assembly Note: Follow Fig.10 for fabric placement and pressing direction while completing the remaining instructions. 10. Sew (1) Four Patch Block between (2) Fabric P Square in a Square Block 1. Press the seam allowances towards the Four Patch Blocks. Repeat to make (6) Four Patch Rows (61⁄2” x 181⁄2” (16.51cm x 46.99cm)). 11. Sew the Fabric A Square in a Square Block 2, Fabric B Square in a Square Block 2 and the Fabric A Square in a Square Block 1 together to make Row 1 (61⁄2” x 181⁄2” (16.51cm x 46.99cm)). Press the seam allowances towards the Fabric A Blocks. 12. Sew the Fabric C Square in a Square Block 1, Fabric D Square in a Square Block 1 and the Fabric C Square in a Square Block 3 together to make Row 2 (61⁄2” x 181⁄2” (16.51cm x 46.99cm)). Press the seam allowances towards the Fabric C Blocks. 13. Sew the Fabric E Square in a Square Block 3, Fabric F Square in a Square Block 1 and the Fabric E Square in a Square Block 1 together to make Row 3 (61⁄2” x 181⁄2” (16.51cm x 46.99cm)). Press the seam allowances towards the Fabric E Blocks. 14. Repeat Step 12 with Fabric G and H Blocks for Row 4 and Fabric K and L Blocks for Row 6. 15. Repeat Step 13 with Fabric I and J Blocks for Row 5. 16. Repeat Step 11 with Fabric M and N Blocks for Row 7. 17. Sew (1) Four Patch Row between Rows 1 and 2 (181⁄2” (46.99cm) square). 18. Sew together (3) Four Patch Rows alternating with Rows 3 and 4 (181⁄2” x 301⁄2” (46.99cm x 77.47cm)). 19. Sew together Rows 5, 6 , and 7, alternating with (2) Four Patch Rows (181⁄2” x 301⁄2” (46.99cm x 77.47cm))
