The different sliced wood patterns Producing veneers can be done according to two techniques: slicing or peeling. Those methods of processing combined with the specie of wood, aim to supply the customer with an impressive and trendy range of products. The main patterns are listed bellow. However, some producers are able to deliver other cutting styles.
CROWN CUT + QUARTER CUT Sliced from the outside and then perpendicular to the growth rings, the veneers shows two different patterns; part is showing a cathedral pattern, part is showing a striped pattern.
QUARTER CUT Sliced perpendicular to the growth rings, the veneer shows a striped pattern.
HALF CROWN CUT Slicing half a log at a flat angle, the veneer shows a cathedral pattern on one side of the sheet and a striped pattern on the other side.
RIFT CUT By peeling one quarter of log, the veneers shows a striped pattern
BURLS Burls logs are rotary cut in order to give the veneers a wild and irregular pattern, with nests and eyes features.

A STANDARDIZED PRODUCTION FOR SPECIFIC USES All veneers are available in thickness of 0,6 mm as a standard. However, French companies also produce other thicknesses according to customer request. Sliced woods are not only an ecologically friendly material, they are also an infinite source of inspiration for the architects, designers and industrial companies who want to feature their products.
