Letter from the editor... freshlyWORN magazine has been a pet-project for me for over 2 years... 4 quarterly magazines in over nearly 3 years plus a supplemental website and more have taken a lot of my creative energy over time. I have spent much of the last few weeks re-evaluating what the magazine is and has become in my life and I have come to a few conclusions: •

I LOVE giving new and established photographers a platform for having their work seen, published and valued

I enjoy the publishing aspect of the magazine. I thrive on creative ideas, graphic design, colour and image.

I’m going to be very honest here. I do NOT like the strictures of publication deadlines and delivery dates - this is mainly coming from a fundamental lack of spare time and pure exhaustion. Most don’t realize I work as a full-time graphic designer for a large city; that I manage free-lance clients and am a semi-fulltime photographer with clients and peronsal, creative work. I am also in the middle of developing a new property with my husband and oh, yeah, I TRY to have a life. Deadlines for publication are literally sucking the very life out of me. I make virtually ZERO money on this magazine, and that’s ok, for now. As I said earlier, it’s my pet project, but in order for me to continue this with any enthuasiasm, that needs to change.

Contributors will continue to receive high quality PDF tearsheets of their published content, for both online and print submissions; there will be more exposure via content and interviews; and additional contributor features as the transition rolls out this summer. In the meantime, please enjoy this issue and we look forward to your continued support as freshlyWORN evolves over the coming months...

I enjoy web design, alot. It’s flexible, easily maintained and timely.

So here we are, another issue to publish and group of great photographer’s work to feature. The creation a double-issue has been a bit of a godsend due to the current state of my work/personal life. It has meant one less publication deadline and one less marketing push for submissions. It has shown me that perhaps the way for me to continue with freshlyWORN and re-invigorate both MY interest and my reader’s interest in it is to revamp the entire publication platform of this magazine. With this thought in mind... I will be re-evaluating the current website and redesigning it in a manner that is more condusive to become a primarily ONLINE magazine publication. I will actively seeking contributors in various areas including hair, make-up and style to help with bolster the content of the online magazine. The plan is to work on the website on a weekly basis, vs a big quarterly print magazine push. I want inspire photographers, mua/hairstylists, models, designers and stylists with new, timely content. I believe that not only will this re-invigorate the magazine and give users more interesting and relevant content, but selfishly, it will re-inspire my desire to continue with publishing the magazine. You are probably now asking yourself: What does that mean to the quarterly PRINT magazine issues of freshlyWORN? Well, I have given this very serious thought...

The plan will be to publish an ANNUAL EDITION of the print magazine featuring only the of the of the best best work submitted to freshlyWORN magazine. This will be available as BOTH a limited edition hard-cover BOOK publication and a beautiful, high quality magazine.
