Rugby Starts off Strong On October 19, Men’s Rugby had their first game of the season. It was off to Sacramento State for the Cal-State 7’s tournament.

The Very first game of the tournament it was up against Sacramento State. Next, they battled CSU Northridge.

Making it to the semi finals, they competed against Monterey. In the finals, they faced the home team Sac State. Rugby finished out the weekend winning three of their four games to win the bowl division. On November 2, Men’s Rugby continued with their winning streak at CSU Long Beach’s 10th

Annual Fall Tournament. Winning all three of their games they won the Championship of their division bracket.

The Men’s Rugby team has been off to a great start this season and is continuing to show improvement.

Bowling Stays on Top The Bowling team kicked off its season playing in the Long Beach Classic on October 19. The Men’s team finished out the tournament placing third. On October 20 at the 49’ers Classic Christopher Davidson finished third for the men’s individual portion of tournament. Fresno State’s Men’s team finished first. On November 9 Fresno State hosted the West Coast Championships 1 at the Student Union. Bianca Taylor finished first for the women’s individual portion of

the tournament and Talia St. Angelo finished third. Davidson finished third for the men’s individual portion once again. Fresno State men’s team finished second overall, while the women’s team placed first. On November 10, at West Coast Championships 11, It was a victory for both the men’s and women’s team, they finished first, showing they were unstoppable on home turf. November 15, Bowling was off to Montclair, CA. Fresno State was up against seven other

schools in the Montclair Open. The first day the team finished in third place. Finishing out the weekend with the Bowlium Open on November 17, the men’s team finished in first. On Sunday, Fresno State won the tournament. Kiel Jordan, the teams president, won the individual portion of the tournament. Bowling has two tournaments left for this semester both in Las Vegas, NV. The team has been off to a great start and will continue to compete through out the Spring semester.

Top Dog This month’s Top Dog is Kiel Jordan from the Bowling team. He was voted upon by the Club Sports Council. This individual was nominated because he showed his strength through out the Montclair Open tournament, he demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and leadership skills.

The weekend of November 16 to 17, the bowling team traveled to Montclair, CA to compete in the Montclair Open. Jordan finished out the weekend winning the individual portion of the tournament. He also played a role in helping the team finish in first place.

Rugby Home Game This weekend Fresno State Men’s Rugby will take on the Fresno Men’s Rugby team in The Battle for Fresno. The game is November 23 at 1:00pm at Wawona Middle School 4524 N. Thorne Ave Fresno, CA 93704 . Go out and support your ‘Dogs!

Men’s Rugby Championship Plaque

The Fresno State Cycling team is having a fundraiser. They are selling lift tickets to China Peak for $40 compared to $90! There is only a limited amount of 100, so get them while they’re available. If you are interested, contact the Club Sports office listed below!

Interested in Becoming More Involved in Club Sports? Recently Club Sports has established committees to help with getting the community more aware and to help the program to grow. The three committees are Marketing, Fundraising and Community Service Project. If you are interested in helping out please contact the Club Sports office to find out more!
