Nato agli inizi degli anni ’60 sfruttando le proprietà ottiche di un dispositivo semiconduttore in grado di emettere luce al passaggio della corrente, il LED (light emitting diode) è capace oggi di generare un flusso che può raggiungere i 120lm/W, con una resa cromatica Ra > 90 e una vita media di 50.000 ore. Questi dati, uniti ai ridotti consumi necessari per il funzionamento, fanno del LED una sorgente luminosa innovativa e altamente performante, capace di sostituire molte delle tradizionali lampade oggi sul mercato.

Born in the early ‘60s by exploiting the optical properties of a semiconductor device that emits light when current passes through it, LEDs (light emitting diode) are now capable of generating a flux of up to 120lm/W with a color rendering of Ra > 90 and an average life of 50,000 hours. These data, combined with reduced energy consumption required for their operation, make LEDs an innovative and high-performance lighting source, capable of replacing many of the traditional lamps on the market today.
Nei suoi prodotti Mizar utilizza solo LED di prima qualità e di caratteristiche omogenee, frutto del lavoro di ricerca e sviluppo svolto da partner altamente qualificati nel settore dell’elettronica e dell’optoelettronica. I diodi utilizzati sono del tipo Chip-On-Board. Il chip è incollato direttamente sulla piastra (PCB), realizzata interamente in alluminio per ottimizzare la dissipazione primaria delcalore nel punto di contatto termico. La luce bianca prodotta dai LED è ottenuta attraverso il principio della conversione di luminescenza: partendo dall’emissione blu del diodo sorgente, a seconda di come sono composti i materiali di conversione, è possibile ottenere diversi gradienti di temperatura colore.
Mizar uses only first quality LEDs in all its products, featuring uniform characteristics resulting from the R&D efforts of its highly qualified partners in electronics and optoelectronics. Diodes used are Chip-On-Board type. The chip is glued directly on the plate (PCB), made entirely of aluminum, with the goal of maximizing the primary dissipation of heat produced at the point of thermal contact. The white light emitted by the LEDs is obtained through the principle of luminescence conversion: starting from the blue emission of the diode source, depending on how the conversion materials are structured, it is possible to achieve different color temperature gradients.

Mizar LED products feature uniformity of color emissions ensured by an accurate identification of binning and their preservation over time as well as rigorous subsequent selection, which Mizar performs within the area of selected binning. This way the human eye cannot perceive the difference between LEDs having the same color temperature when they are compared to each other and the resulting system is visually uniform.

I led non vanno d’accordo con temperature elevate. Se i prodotti a led vengono installati in zone ad elevata temperatura o se l’emissione termica non è correttamente dissipata, ne risente il flusso luminoso e la durata è sicuramente compromessa. Per tali ragioni Mizar ha posto particolare attenzione allo studio, progettazione e sviluppo di dispositivi passivi (usualmente PCB in Metal Core + dissipatore lamellare in alluminio purissimo) ad elevate performance di dissipazione termica. In alcuni casi, Mizar ha sviluppato sistemi di raffreddamento attivi (ventole di raffreddamento) a controllo elettronico, che si aggiungono ai primi garantendo durata e prestazioni nel tempo dei prodotti a Led. I prodotti a Led di Mizar sviluppano, per propria scelta progettuale, una Tj (temperatura di giunzione) inferiore agli 80°, laddove i produttori dei diodi consigliano in generale una soglia massima di 95° per garantire le 50.000 ore di durata del led.
LEDs do not operate at high temperature. temperature If LED products are installed in high temperature areas it is necessary to dissipate the heat emissions properly, to prevent the reduction of luminous flux and a shortened life span. This is why Mizar paid particular attention to the research, design and development of passive devices (usually PCB in Metal Core + laminated heat-sink in pure aluminum) with high heat dissipation performance. In some cases, Mizar developed active cooling systems (cooling fans) with electronic control in addition to the passive cooling systems, thus ensuring life and performance of its LED products over time. Mizar’s LED products allow keeping the diodes (junction temperature) Tj at a value lower than 80°C while the manufacturer of LEDs advise a maximum Tj temperature of 95°C in order to ensure 50,000 hour of LED life.

Mizar ha sviluppato un sistema di dimmerazione per i suoi prodotti a Led pilotati in 12/24Vdc. Il sistema ‘Microdim’, attraverso un modulo dimmer esterno, permette la dimmerazione simultanea fino a 40 prodotti led, sia in modalità 1-10V che Switch Dim. Il sistema Microdim supera i limiti di dimmerazione dei normali alimentatori dimmerabili perchè emette un segnale PWM (Pulse with modulation) personalizzato, necessario per ottenere una variazione lineare della luminosità del Led.
Mizar has developed a system to dim its LED products supplied at 12/24Vdc. The “Microdim” system, through an external dimmer module, allows dimming up to 40 simultaneous LED products, either by using a dc voltage variable from 1 to 10V or by using a dimming switch. The Microdim system overcomes the limitations of normal dimmable devices, because it emits a personalized PWM modulation (Pulse with modulation), which is necessary to obtain a linear variation of LED brightness.

Nei prodotti a Led di Mizar un sistema di lenti ad elevato indice di trasmissione garantisce la limitazione della perdita del flusso luminoso dalla fonte primaria entro il 7%. Altri fattori in un prodotto a led, contribuiscono alla perdita di flusso rispetto all’emissione primaria: la combinazione del sistema ottico + sistema meccanico + alimentazione del prodotto determina la riduzione del flusso luminoso del diodo. Nei prodotti Mizar la sommatoria totale della perdita di flusso è limitata e rientra nel range massimo del 10-15%.
Mizar’s LED Products use a lens system with a high index of transmission that limits the primary source loss of luminous flux to 7%. Other factors in a LED product contribute to the loss of luminous flux in comparison to the primary emission: the combination of the optical system + mechanical system + power supply of the product causes the reduction of diode’s luminous flux. On Mizar’s LED products, the overall luminous flux loss is limited and it is in the range of 10-15%.

I La biblioteca Strahov, parte integrante della canonica reale dei Monaci Premonasteriali a Strahov, fu fondata nel 1143 dal vescovo di Olomouc, Jindoich Zdík, con il sostegno dei vescovi di Praga e dal Principe e futuro Re di Boemia. Non si hanno notizie certe del mantenimento e dello sviluppo della biblioteca stessa fino alla pace di Westfalia. Dopo la Guerra dei Trent’anni, la collezione fu sistemata in una nuova sala, l’attuale Theological Hall realizzata in stile barocco da Giovanni Domenico Orsi nel 1679. La sala fu sempre conservata con grande cura e la collezione di volumi formata da oltre 200.000 tomi tra cui 3.000 manoscritti e 1.500 stampe realizzati tra il 16° e 18° secolo, fu mantenuta praticamente intatta nel corso dei secoli. Era infatti vietato entrare nella sala con una luce artificiale. Verso la fine del 18° secolo la collezione della biblioteca si arricchì notevolmente e fu necessario realizzare una nuova sale che contenesse i nuovi testi, l’attuale Philosophical Hall progettata da Jan Ignaz Palliardi, architetto italiano, naturalizzato in Boemia e oggetto dell’intervento illuminotecnico. La sala sorge al posto di un vecchio granaio e ha dimensioni di 32m di lunghezza, 22m di larghezza e 14m di altezza con volta a botte interamente affrescata dal pittore Viennese Anton Maulbertsch nel 1794. L’archivio si sviluppa lungo i 4 lati, ed è disposto su due livelli; il primo, al piano terra, ha un’altezza di circa 7m ed è sormontato da un cornicione con elementi decorativi intarsiati in legno massiccio dorato. Il secondo, la cui totale fruizione è garantita da un ballatoio largo circa 60cm, si eleva per un’altezza di 6m. Le cronache narrano che l’attuale assetto sia un adattamento al progetto originale del Palliardi, costretto ad apportare modifiche per adattare un arredamento acquistato a buon mercato da un’altra biblioteca.
I The Strahov Library, an integral part of the royal presbytery of Premonasterial Monks at Strahov was established in 1143 by the Bishop of Olomouc, Jindoich Zdík, with the support of the Bishops of Prague and Prince and future King of Bohemia. There is no sure information about the maintenance and development of the library until the Peace of Westphalia. After the Thirty-Year War, the collection was relocated in a new hall, the current Baroque-style Theological Hall built by Giovanni Domenico Orsi, in 1679. The hall was always maintained with great care and the collection of volumes consisting of more than 200.000 tomes including 3.000 manuscripts and 1.500 prints produced between the 16th and 18th centuries was kept virtually undamaged over the centuries. In fact, it was forbidden to enter the hall with any kind of artificial light. Towards the end of the 18th century, the library collection was enriched significantly leading to the need to build a new hall in order to arrange the new books; the new hall, subject matter of the new lighting project, is the current Philosophical Hall designed by Ignazio Palliardi, an Italian architect, naturalized in Bohemia. The hall stands on the site of a former barn and it is 32m long, 22m wide and 14m high with a barrel vault completely frescoed by Viennese painter Anton Maulbertsch, in 1794. The archive is set out along the four sides, and it is split on two levels: the ground floor is about 7m high and is crowned by a frame with decorative golden elements inlaid in solid wood. The other floor, which is possible to enjoy in full from a 60cm wide balcony, rises to a height of 6m. History tells us that the current arrangement is an adaptation of the original Palliardi design, forced to make changes to accommodate inexpensive furniture bought from another library.
MAGAZINE 03 L’impianto illuminotecnico esistente denotava la mancanza di un reale progetto: il primo livello era illuminato da alcune sospensioni con sorgenti a incandescenza poste lungo il perimetro della sala ed agganciate al cornicione del ballatoio, mentre quella del secondo era data da alcuni apparecchi a batteria con lampade alogene installati sul corrimano del parapetto. Oltre alla collocazione infelice dei corpi illuminanti, nelle ore notturne il livello di illuminamento non soddisfala i requisiti richiesti per questo tipo di locali.
The existing lighting system showed a lack of a real design: the first level was lit through hanging fixtures with incandescent lamps placed along the perimeter of the hall and hooked to the balcony frame, while the lighting system of the second level was created using battery operated fixtures with halogen lamps installed on the handrail of the parapet. In addition to the inappropriate placement of the lights, at night the level of illumination did not meet the requirements for this type of premises.
Il nuovo impianto di illuminazione nasce sulla base di un progetto versatile, capace di adattarsi anche a utilizzi diversi da quello prettamente bibliotecario. Non è raro infatti che luoghi come questo vengano spesso usati per attività congressuali o per esposizioni d’arte. Al tempo stesso, l’uso di sorgenti puntiformi unite ad apparecchi tuttaluce con ottica asimmetrica sul cornicione superiore esalta l’aspetto architettonico e artistico del manufatto. L’illuminazione generale degli archivi e del piano di calpestio è stata effettuata con dei prodotti RAY a 3 sorgenti alogene QR111 (DALI) con diverso fascio di apertura, disposti lungo il cornicione in legno, ad un’altezza di circa 13mt dal piano di calpestio. Gli apparecchi sono stati ancorati alla struttura portante con delle staffe regolabili in lunghezza e in altezza, progettate e prodotte esclusivamente per l’illuminazione della sala. Questo metodo consente di sostenere gli apparecchi e renderli quasi invisibili dal basso, inoltre il cornicione in legno viene preservato integro.
The new lighting system was established on the basis of a versatile design that can be also used for multiple purposes other than just the library one. Often times, in fact, these types of premises are also used as business conference centers or art exhibitions. Simultaneously, the use of spot light sources combined to devices with asymmetrical optics on the upper frame highlights the architectural and artistic aspect of the structure. The overall illumination of the archives and floor was performed using RAY lighting with 3 QR111 halogen lighting sources (DALI) featuring different opening beam arranged along the wood frame at a height of about 13 meters from the floor. The fixtures were anchored to the bearing structure with brackets adjustable in length and height, designed and produced exclusively for the lighting of the hall. This allows supporting the fixtures and makes them almost invisible from the bottom; in addition, the wooden frame is preserved intact.

I Il Castello, monumento nazionale, con una superficie di oltre 7 ettari di cui 12.070 mq coperti da fabbricati, svetta sul paesaggio di Milazzo alla sommità dell’antico “Borgo”. Le prime e rudimentali fortificazioni sono databili alla seconda età della pietra: Neolitico (4.000 a.C. circa). Furono, però, gli Arabi, che dopo l’843 sulle rovine delle precedenti costruzioni greche e romane, diedero vita al primo nucleo (la parte più antica) dell’attuale castello. Successivamente, Normanni, Svevi e Aragonesi ne adeguarono l’impianto difensivo e sotto la dominazione Spagnola, fu completato con la poderosa cinta bastionata conferendogli le dimensioni di una “cittadella” e la sua definitiva conformazione. Le leggende popolari raccontano di strane vicende che rendono la millenaria storia di questo antico maniero ancora più suggestiva ed affascinante, come la commovente storia d’amore culminata in tragedia della baronessa Eleonora Baele. I pescatori narrano che nelle notti d’Agosto si senta ancora il pianto di lei e si possa scorgere il suo fantasma cavalcare tra un torrione all’altro del castello in cerca del suo amore. Dal 2008, a cura della soprintendenza ai beni culturali, sono iniziati gli importanti lavori di restauro che hanno interessato la cinta spagnola, quella aragonese, la valorizzazione dell’edificio conventuale e il mastio Islamico-Normanno. L’intento è quello di creare in un prossimo futuro un’area di eccellenza per la convegnistica e le esposizioni. L’intervento illuminotecnico, ha voluto valorizzare l’impianto architettonico, preservando le strutture e l’austera sobrietà di questa antica dimora. L’utilizzo di sistemi di illuminazione Mirage biemissione, permette infatti di illuminare con efficacia le ampie sale consentendo al tempo stesso un sensibile contenimento dei costi di esercizio grazie all’uso di lampade a fluorescenza. Gli ambienti travati a vista, non permettendo l’ancoraggio al soffitto, sono stati risolti con sistemi Planetarius Ecolucis, anche questi dotati di sorgente fluorescente.
E The castle, a national monument boasting an overall surface of more than 7 hectares including 12,070 square meters of buildings, stands out over the landscape of Milazzo from the top of the ancient village. The first rudimental fortifications date back to the second Stone Age: the Neolitic (circa 4000 BC). However, the Arabs were the first civilization that after the year 843 built over the ruins of previous Greek and Roman buildings the main structure of the current castle (its oldest area). After that, Normans, Swabians, and Aragonese adapted its defensive structure and under the Spanish rule, majestic rampart-fortified walls were added bringing the castle to its final structure and to the size of a “citadel”. Popular legends speak of strange events that make the millenary history of this ancient fortress even more intriguing and charming, such as the tragic and moving love story of Baroness Eleonora Baele. Fishermen’s stories say that in the nights of August it is still possible to hear the Baroness cry and catch a glimpse of her ghost roaming endlessly in the castle in search for her lover. Since 2008, thanks to an initiative of the Cultural Heritage Superintendency, major restoration works were initiated on the Spanish walls, the Aragonese structure, the convent building and the Islamic-Norman keep. The objective is to create in the near future an attractive area for conventions and exhibitions. The lighting system installation has the goal of enhancing the architecture, safeguarding both the structures and the simple and stern style of this ancient castle. The use of bi-emission Mirage lighting, in fact, allows illuminating effectively the wide stairs allowing at the same time a significant reduction of overhead costs thanks to the use of fluorescent lamps. The exposed beams environments, not allowing anchoring to the roof, led to the use of a “Planetarius Ecolucis” system, also equipped with fluorescent lamps.

Surround downlights Description I Il sistema Surround caratterizzato dal piacevole contrasto cromatico tra corpo lampada e struttura, si presenta in due nuovissime versioni ad incasso a scomparsa totale, o a semi-incasso, con struttura a vista. Completa la serie di sorgenti luminose sia tradizionali che LED ad ultima generazione. Nel sistema a scomparsa totale, è molto interessante il meccanismo interno di ragolazione della posizione interna su tre livelli predisposti che consentono di arretrare completamento il corpo luce o posizionarlo in modo tale da poter raggungere una escursione di oltre 45° sul puntamento rispetto alla verticale. Questo, permette di disporre di uno strumento di illuminazione estremamente flessibile e particolarmente performante per il settore espositivo e retail. I Lo storico pastificio Veneto, noto per aver brevettato il processo di pastorizzazione della pasta fresca, rinnova la livrea della sua sede in provincia di Venezia. Nuovi uffici più spaziosi e luminosi, una nuova sala riunioni, migliorano il comfort di impiegati, dirigenti e visitatori. Il design degli interni sposa un arredo in stile minimalista dai toni chiari, che ben si presta all’inserimento di sistemi di illuminazione tecnica altamente performanti e contraddistinti da comfort visivi elevati come gli apparecchi a sospensione Bird di Mizar. I modelli installati sono dotati dell’ottica dark light a bassa luminanza (L<1.000 cd/m2 per a>65° con UGR<19) che ne permette l’installazione direttamente sopra postazioni con videoterminali. La possibilità di gestire la doppia accensione (monoemissione a luce diretta o indiretta o biemissione) consente di impostare l’illuminazione migliore per le diverse attività che possono essere svolte in ufficio. The interior design matches a minimalist furnishing style featuring light colors that combine well with the installation of high performance lighting systems distinguished by high visual comfort such as Mizar’s “Bird” hanging fixtures. The fixtures installed are equipped with dark-light lowluminance technology (L<1,000 cd/sq.m for a>65° with UGR<19) that allows installing them directly above the computerized workstations. The possibility of managing the dual start up simultaneously (direct or indirect mono-emission or bi-emission illumination) allows setting the best illumination for the various office activities. Each room is improved by the presence of spotlights obtained thanks to the installation of recessed fixtures that enhance the feeling of comfort and wellbeing, introducing residential elements to the workplace.

The lighting system is simple and essential, light permeates the space and it creates charming details without becoming too ostentatious. Particularly distinguishing are the Surround fixtures thanks to their geometrical and linear shapes and the playful game of chromatic contrasts between the finishing of the bodyworks and luminous element.

I 1929 Mentre l’America era in ginocchio per il crollo di Wall Street, a Pordenone si assisteva all’inesorabile declino dell’industria del cotone, cuore pulsante dell’economia locale. Crisi, sappiamo bene, significa anche cambiamento e voglia di rimettersi in discussione. Così, nello stesso anno, la famiglia Ferronato decise di mettere a frutto le conoscenze in ambito farmaceutico per produrre il proprio liquore d’erbe e aprire così lo storico locale del centro. Locale storico d’italia, il negozio Ferronato, conserva il fascino di un tempo e nei suoi scaffali si trovano ancora bottiglie rare di pregiati vini e liquori. L’illuminazione contribuisce a creare l’atmosfera perfetta per l’esperienza di acquisto: i pregiati legni massicci degli scaffali riflettono i raggi dorati della luce che rimbalzano sui vetri delle bottiglie e avvolgono di un atmosfera surreale l’intero negozio. L’illuminazione, è realizzata preservando le strutture architettoniche e gli arredi con i sistemi Viger con proiettori ad alogeni e ioduri metallici. Questi, posizionati in fondo al locale, contribuiscono a definirne i volumi e ad aumentare il senso di profondità prospettica.
E 1929. While America was on its knees for the fall of Wall Street, Pordenone was witnessing the inexorable decline of the cotton industry, the beating heart of the local economy. Crises, as we all know, bring about also the need for changes and the desire to challenge oneself. Thus, that same year, the Ferronato family decided to put into action their pharmaceutical knowledge to produce their very own herb-based liquor and open their historical downtown shop. The Ferronato’s shop, a historical Italian store, maintains the ancient charm of the past and it is still possible to find rare and precious wine and liquor bottles on its shelves. The illumination contributes to create the perfect atmosphere for the purchasing experience. The precious solid wood of the shelves reflects the golden rays of the light mirroring them back onto the bottles in glass, enveloping the entire shop in a surreal atmosphere. The illumination is created by preserving the architectural structures and furniture using a Viger system with halogen and metal halide projectors. These, placed at the end of the store, help defining its volumes and increasing the feeling of prospective depth.
