Are you a principal, instructional coach, teacher leader, or someone in a profession that finds themselves having to “in service” adult learners? Are you a secondary teacher who has to “fill” 90 minutes or more of instructional time and wonders why the kids don’t remember everything you taught? If you answered “yes” then this is the workshop for you! In this workshop you will learn the finder points of planning for and delivering presentations that will have a lasting and positive impact on your learners and leave them wanting more! In this workshop some of the topics include: active engagement strategies for adults and students, presentation styles and how they affect learners for different results, communicating with the entire brain of your audience, making learning active, room arrangement to enhance presentation, use of visuals, how to work with special situations (nervousness, avoiding unintended offense, ways to redirect resistance), responding to questions and maintaining credibility, deciding what content is most important and understanding the content and process “teeter totter”. This is an online class and will be delivered using Moodle. There will be opportunities to share with one another in blogs, and videos for practice as well as learn from, and give feedback to one another. Join us as we learn to navigate the skill of presenting in engaging and transformative ways, together! This course is an online class. Participants will use Moodle to complete their work.
