The AVID Path to Schoolwide workshops will allow you to accelerate and deepen your school’s AVID implementation. It will feature a rigorous curriculum that promotes student achievement at the highest levels and lays out a pathway to student success. Based on the teacher-developed, classroom-proven AVID College Readiness System, Path to Schoolwide trainings offer guides and materials for teachers, administrators, academic counselors, career advisors, and anyone who wants to help students fulfill their potential and successfully prepare for college. Participants will become familiar with AVID methodologies and learn what to anticipate when a school focuses its structures, processes, protocols, and systems to strategically improve performance of all students. This workshop is designed for K-12, Wichita Public School licensed educators, who are currently employed for USD 259 at an AVID contracted school, including Elementary and Secondary administrators, counselors, AVID Elective teachers, as well as elementary, middle, and high school content area teachers.. It will be held at Wichita Heights High School, May 31-June 1 and/or June 2-3, from 8:00 am-3:30 pm. In order to receive credit, attendance is required for at least one set of days.
