BIRDING (KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE SKY)

Tuesdays 8-9am

Fripp Island is Certified Wildlife Habitat and an Audubon Important Area. A variety of birds use our beaches, maritime forests, golf courses, ponds, and marshes. This walking tour will depart from the Activity Center and we will search for wading birds, shore birds, and woodland species. Beginners to expert birders are welcome!

CONSERVATION PROGRAM FREE

Join our naturalist to learn about current environmental trends and how you can help! Ever wonder how climate change is affecting sea turtle eggs? Or what you can do to keep our coral reefs healthy? Meet us at the Activity Center to learn more!

CRABBING & SEINING

$12/person

Sundays 10:00-11:00am

Fridays 1:30-2:30pm

For this program, our naturalists will teach you how to use crab drop nets, seine nets, and cast nets. Learn about the different types of fish and crabs that you can catch in Fripp’s coastal waters. If you want to try it out, wear clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting wet and dirty! This program is catch and release only.This is fun for all ages and does not require a reservation. Advanced Registration is Required, call 843-838-1516 to book your space.

CREATURES OF THE NIGHT

$20/person

Thursdays 8:30-9:30pm

Looking for a fun activity to do at night? Look no further! Join us on a nature walk to look for all different kinds of night wildlife that we see on the island, including frogs, toads, alligators, raccoons, opossums, bats, and owls. Our naturalists will teach you all about these wonderful animals as you see them! Some flashlights are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. Please call ahead of time to reserve your spot.

FEEDING FRENZY FREE

Fridays 12-1pm

Be sure to stop by the Activity Center on Fridays to see our resident animals get fed!You will get to see our snakes, turtles, and alligator eat their favorite foods; as well as learn about their diets, feeding habits, and how their bodies are designed to eat the way they do.

GATOR WALK

$15/person

Mondays 5:30-6:30pm

Thursdays 9:30-10:30am

Fripp Island is home to a ton of alligators! First we’ll introduce you to our baby alligator, Jortie. Then our naturalists will take you looking for these prehistoric predators in some of Fripp’s golf course ponds. As we watch for gators you’ll learn all about Fripp’s most awesome apex predator.
