Eron Laber

The challenge of elevating memories to art is what drives Neil. Through directional lighting and ever-changing technology, Neil’s style is constantly evolving. His technical fluidity combined with his attentiveness to the details of a moment tell a story that only he can tell.

Eron’s a street photographer of the first order. Emerging from the coffee houses & darkrooms of his youth, he brings a discipline of “found object” art to his images. He’s always striving to create the perfect image through the intersection of timing, composition, exposure, mood, expression & light.

The rest of the Front Room family is comprised of (in addition to Neil & Eron) three full time in-studio employees including a full time master retoucher who devotes all of her time to making our photographer’s art even more gorgeous, another photographer extraordinaire and production guru and a studio manager. Outside of our office staff, FRP has a wide network of photographers that we know, trust, and love to work with! Some are frequent and long-time Front Roomers, others are occasional or new additions. Regardless, we have high regard for anyone that we work with and hold them to the very high standards and expectations of producing art that will bear the Front Room name.

Art of the moment “At Front Room, we strive to maximize our clients wedding experience, from the interview to having finished deliverables and every step of the way in between. Our dedication to completing this journey is never-ending. We’re artists with a personal approach to every aspect of our work. Our quest for the perfect photographic moment is matched by our quest for the perfect customer service experience. Each relationship is unique and deserves our personal attention.

By blending in and becoming part of their family for the day, or over the years, we capture moments from an intimate perspective that never feels intrusive. Some of the resulting images stand alone as highlights of a day full of emotional peaks. Others are strung together to convey the depth of conviction culminating on this special day. The handmade products we produce are designed in conjunction with our clients through web-based platforms that allow us to work cooperatively no matter our or their location. We look forward to telling your clients stories through our images and their words.”

VEGAS Desert

Every landscape and lighting situation offer unique opportunities. The desert surrounding Las Vegas is no exception and there is certainly an abundance of both. All of our work stresses a unique blend of drama, emotion, personality and fun. It is really stunning when the location reflects those same qualities. We fell in love with the pursuit of the perfect image and it’s the chase that keeps us hungry for the next slice of beauty that could be lurking around the next bend.

Endless vistas on the horizon Vanishing points guide the eye to the infinite distance Bending the harsh sun to our will The sensual lines of a barren land Sprawling possibilities YO UR STUDI O PH O TO G R A P H Y

Night on the Strip Lighting

The importance of using light to its fullest cannot be overstated. Maximizing light that is available can be very powerful, but many times additional light needs to be provided. Lately, we have fallen in love with nighttime shooting and the subtle lighting that goes with it. There’s nothing more romantic than the twinkling lights at night and the Las Vegas strip has perhaps more twinkling lights than any other location we know. By using subtle light to either brighten or back light our subjects, we can maintain that romance while also highlighting our subjects. In addition to the aesthetic benefits, nighttime shooting is logistically flexible because the lighting conditions are the same all night long. During the day, there are limited times that the light is at its best but, at night, there are virtually no limitations to how many shoots are possible.

“Thanks to you, we have absolutely stunning photos that truly tell the beautiful story of our wedding. You took care of us, directed us, (and the wedding party) and created a romantic vision of our wedding. You are extremely talented – and we can’t thank you enough.” YO UR STUDI O PH O TO G R A P H Y

INDONESIA

“We’ve been so pleased with our entire Front Room experience. Everyone is going crazy about what pictures to get. My adoration for Neil & Eron grows and grows.” – Carrie & Lyle

“When immersed in a culture half way around the world, we’re reminded of all that we take for granted. Traveling to Bali and Jakarta for a two part wedding celebration, we were exposed to an entirely new culture. BALI-Taking in the local fare (hand made carvings, surfing villages, amazingly detailed monuments … ) changed who we are and influenced how we told the story. This was their destination wedding, in a paradise on the other side of Indonesia. Only a four hour flight from Jakarta, one of the largest cities in the world, but some of their guests had never made the journey! JAKARTA-Here they had what we learned is a traditional Indonesian wedding. Including a large, elegantly appointed ballroom at the Ritz Carlton, around 1,000 guests and seven food stations.

Catalina

part of the family

Catalina, an island a short ferry ride off the coast of Los Angeles, is known for its rolling hillside, laid back yet upscale crowd and golf carts everyone uses to get around. It’s also the setting for a very intimate wedding experience we had. You become much more than a photographer when you it’s you and fifteen of the bride and groom’s closest friend’s that make the journey together to their wedding. You become one of those friends, as well as the de facto wedding coordinator, at times. We always try to use the light to it’s fullest. Most times the conditions of a ceremony are out of our control. When we have the opportunity to influence the location and timing of a small ceremony, there are times when our suggestions can elevate the photos (and the expereience) to another level.

details make the difference One cannot overestimate the amount of time brides and grooms put into planning out every little detail of their wedding.

“Your gift is to capture the ‘heart’ of a wedding. All of the magical moments and so many that WE missed before we saw your pictures! We thank you for the pictures, your gracious personality, hanging around for a long time and being so dear to us! And a special thank you to your staff – they make business a pleasure!” YO UR STUDI O PH O TO G R A P H Y – JoAnne YOURSTUDIO.COM

The different choices they make and vendors they use help to set the tone and define the pallet that their encounter at every turn. Once the plates are cleared and the flowers are gone, the images we create allow these details to live on, evoking the feel of day to be remembered.

a wedding day does not allow for all the art a couple would like to make with us. Sometimes the city that is home is not the city of the wedding. When all this happens, it is a great excuse for us to travel to a couple’s home and take full advantage of all the opportunities we can find to tell the story of that couple in their town. Washington D.C. provided a stunning backdrop for a special couple who took this journey in their own town with us.

“Words cannot express how grateful we are for the work that you did for us. We were impressed by your creativity and ability to capture those special moments. You are amazing!” – Katiana & Nevin

We used the monuments, of course, but also found some unlikely locales that simply worked and were irresistible.

Daytime Engagements

Our approach is all about people being themselves in front of our cameras and looking to us as friends. It takes a shared experience to make this happen. An engagement session gives us the opportunity to share an experience prior to the wedding day. The session is spent without a road map, finding the best use of location and light, getting to know a couple and how they interact with each other and the camera. When couples hire us, there is great excitement that we will be at their wedding, interpreting it through our artists’ eyes. The first time we get together to take photos, that excitement is usually replaced with apprehension because they aren’t sure what to expect. When we have the benefit of an engagement session, the apprehension is replaced by excitement again for the wedding experience.

Proposals The event that sets all this in motion is perhaps the most romantic moment in the life of a wedding experience. The moment is fleeting, but, with enough forethought, we can capture it beautifully and create images that evoke all the emotions each half of a couple feels when this life changing question is asked. To make this happen, we get to coordinate some pretty interesting subterfuge (going undercover, photographic silencers … ) that brings out the latent spy within us. It’s pretty exciting for us, but we aren’t experiencing half the butterflies the groom is as he bides his time. We have yet to shoot a proposal where the answer is no. If the groom is hiring us to be there, he is certain he will get the right answer.

FINISHING THE STORY: Prints, Art & Albums

As artists, we are committed to telling a story. Creating many images is the first step in that journey. Sifting through the images and piecing the puzzle together is as much a part of our art as anything else.

Each album layout is it’s own creation told by us through each couple. Once an album layout is complete we spend time finishing each image bring out every detail and make it as stunning as it can be.

The prints we make for our clients adorn their walls as some of the most personal art they could have. Everything we create is made to last, both in the materials and the aesthetics we use. The

investment our clients make in us is returned to them for generations. Helping our clients to display the memories that matter to them in ways that make sense for their home, style, and budget.

I can’t tell you how many people commented on how terrific they thought you were … you touched everyone you came in contact with. From a proud mom, please accept my heartfelt gratitude for your depth of understanding of what it means to be ‘in the moment.’ We’ll remember who was behind the camera whenever we look at the photos … and smile.” – Rebecca
