Unification and Renovation of two Neighboring Houses in Lefkara Village
LEFKARA: A DENSELY INHABITED SETTLEMENT
CONTINUOUS BUILT MASS A basic characteristic of Lefkara Village is the continuous built mass. In this way, every house touches the one next to it and the accessibility is possible only through the alley that passes in front of the facades.
SITE ANALYSIS
CONCEPT IDEA Unification of two neighboring houses, one inhabited and one abandoned
WORKING AND LIVING PUBLIC AND PRIVATE
The idea is to combine working and living as well as private and public in multiple ways. Below, the scenarios are listed showing the different combinations of public and private along with living and working. ADAPTABLE USE
SCENARIO 1
In the first scenario, the living spaces have a direct dialogue with the working spaces and the gallery. Particularly, the living space at the ground floor has a direct communication with the gallery space. At the first floor the living spaces give their place to the working spaces.
SCENARIO 2
In the second scenario a more clear separation of the space is dominant. The ground level is divided between living space and a small gallery space. At the upper floor the space is exclusively for living.
SCENARIO 3
In the third scenario the building is transformed into a space used almost exclusively as a cafe / restaurant with a small part of the space used as a gallery space.
SCENARIO 4
In the fourthe scenario the builing becomes an exclusively residential building divided in three appartments.
