Elements of CLIL in Foreign Language Teaching: a Natural Support for Learners’ Cognitive Development at Lower Primary Level The article argues that the implementation of CLIL pedagogy in early foreign language teaching requires that both materials writers and practising teachers fully understand its fundamental benefits. Of considerable importance is that a well-informed integration of language and knowledge components can naturally contribute to the development of learners’ cognitive abilities such as categorization, association, comparison, classification, decision making or problem solving. The Role of Art Therapy Techniques in the Education of Gifted Students The education system should provide support to gifted students in developing their abilities and minimizing the problems they are exposed to. Success in this regard can be achieved through art therapy techniques application in the pedagogical practice that contribute to children’s full development. These techniques not only help gifted students acquire knowledge of a specific subject, but also that about yourself, other people or the surrounding world. They make the emotional and social functioning of these students better. EWA DOMAGAŁA-ZYŚK
Talent for Foreign Languages and Hearing Impairment. Do they Match? When discussing the issues connected with talents for learning languages we almost never think about deaf or hard of hearing students. Their everyday language difficulties and problems with speech hearing and production seem to make it impossible to master a foreign language. The reality is actually richer than our stereotypical perception and shows that there are persons with hearing problems who are able to use competently foreign languages for their education and work. The aim of the article is to present a case study of one of these students. MIECZYSŁAW GAJOS
Film Roles of Edith Piaf Edith Piaf, a French singer who lived in 1915-1963, is a musical symbol of France. Her recordings to this day can be heard in the media and CDs with her songs are in constant sale. The Piaf ’s repertoire reaches younger and younger generations, not only in France, but also beyond its borders. Piaf, who left 55 years ago, still lives in her songs. In her rich legacy, there is an area of artistic activity that has been somewhat forgotten, or maybe it is simply unknown to many people – her theater and film roles. The article treats about Piaf: the film actress. I decided to write it on the 55th anniversary of her death. I hope that my paper will allow French teachers to discover this less-known Edith and inspire them to use information contained therein to enrich and diversify French language classes.
