Abstract The article analyzes the quality of civic education incorporated into the summer camps organized by the Kosciuszko Foundation. Are these English language camps an opportunity for young people to develop their knowledge of civics? Is interacting with American teachers and volunteers an opportunity to build positive civic attitudes? Individual interviews were conducted with the Polish teachers who participated in the Teaching English in Poland (TEIP) camps. The purpose of this research was to define what elements of civic education are implemented during the language camps and to determine the overall impact of the TEIP program on the process of civic education, i.e. on changing students’ social attitudes regarding conscious participation in the formation of social relationships. The program’s impact on the teachers’ social attitudes was also examined.
