Boyer: Kiwifruit and clementines complement the range

Kiwifruits and Clementines complement the range

Boyer SAS | Philibon ► After a year‘s break, the company from Moissac in the southwest of France is back in Berlin this year. At FRUIT LOGISTICA and beyond, the team wants to show not only proven quality fruit including some new additions, but also their flexibility regarding future challenges in the industry.

Jean-Marc Boyer sees Berlin as „a good place for us to cultivate our relationships with partners and customers.“ This year, says the Sales Director, Boyer will again be present with its entire product range. In the past, the company had always created a colorful, Caribbean flair in the French Hall. In 2023, two new products will enrich the range: Orri clementines as well as Philibon kiwifruit. Other tropical fruits, e.g. pineapples, passion fruit or mangos, are part of the range, as well as regional fruit such as plums, which also play an important role in the company‘s fruit range.

Continue to deliver outstanding quality

For 2023, the company keeps the goal to convince with quality products of the Philibon brand, reports Boyer. Melons remain a core business, he confirms. „Available almost year-round, they generate 70% of our sales.“ But Philibon is not only known for its Charentais melons, as the Sales Director points out. Other fruits also receive a very good response. Consumers appreciate the origin of the fruit, he said, as well as the particularly high quality for which the Philibon brand stands. And, of course, this is not only available to French consumers: as Jean-Marc Boyer emphasizes, the company‘s wide range of quality fruit is aimed at „connoisseurs who are looking for organoleptically outstanding products.“ The fact that hurdles can also get in the way of day-to-day work, and are currently doing so more than ever before, is clear to him, as it is to all other players in the industry: for Boyer, the issues of costs, stimulating consumer demand, sustainability and climate change are among the biggest challenges that need to be addressed now and in the future. Logistics also remains important in this regard. „We try to be as prepared as possible, to anticipate, to be able to react quickly and to find new solutions every day,“ concludes Jean-Marc Boyer. i.d.
