At this new edition, called ‘Freshly Forward’, Rijk Zwaan will tackle the current challenges of the entire value chain providing inspiring solutions and innovations to meet the demands of an increasingly competitive market in the entire melon and watermelon category.
In melons, they will show a wide range in different segments: Yellow, Galia, Cantaloupe, Charentais, Ananas and Piel de Sapo.
And in watermelons, they will display their extensive offer, composed of seedless, seeded and micro-seeded materials, as well as a range of varieties classified in the innovation category due to their differentiating characteristics.
The star: Candyball
As always, their concepts will be very present. In a more prominent way, they will show Candyball, a line of one-person, microseed watermelons, between 1-2 kg in weight and with an essential factor for producers: yield. Last year they presented the first variety within this range, Corellana RZ.
They are also continuing along the Sandissima path: micro-seed watermelons, between 2-4 kg, with good aptitude for fresh produce and pollinators. In this segment, the latest new development last year was Balos RZ.
Tropical is extending the range started with Tropical Sunshine (yellow-fleshed) with new watermelons that are groundbreaking regarding flavour and colour, both of flesh (of all kinds, except red) and of skin.
In melons, they have the piel de sapo materials encompassed in their Mellismo concept. Visitors will be able to verify the quality of the product they need, such as flavour, firmness, shelf life and sustainability aspects of the varieties (resistance, behaviour with abiotic factors, etc.) over the 12 months of the year; as well as discovering the trends that give value to consumers.
The team at Rijk Zwaan is waiting for you at this key meeting for the entire melon and watermelon supply chain.
