After meeting my teachers and the Sixth Form team I soon realised that Three Rivers Academy was the place that would help me grow into someone who is confident and ready for adult life. Teachers are always available to give support and they strive to make the lessons enjoyable and creative. Student Three Rivers Academy Sixth Form is a great place to study. There is a big difference between school and Sixth Form: a lot more work, but more independence with it and the teachers here really help to bridge the gap between GCSE and A Level. Student

Having recently moved into a brand new school, we offer outstanding Sixth Form facilities in a modern setting which will support us in delivering a first-class education. The Sixth Form Centre creates and provides dedicated spaces, whilst still allowing students to benefit from the support of the main school and everything which it has to offer. As a member of The Howard Partnership Trust, we further benefit from collaboration with the other Sixth Forms within the partnership and this wealth of expertise and experience is invaluable. As a result, Three Rivers Academy Sixth Form maximises opportunities for young people to develop academically and prepare for the important next steps in your life. As part of the preparation for life beyond our Sixth Form, we place huge importance in building independence in our students and giving them space and opportunities to grow and develop. Our highly qualified, professional staff are dedicated to “bringing out the best� in all our students, enabling them to achieve more than they ever thought they could. As Head of Sixth Form, I am delighted that you are considering joining Three Rivers Academy. During your time with us we will help you to not only achieve the best grades possible, but to become well-rounded individuals, confident and equipped to enter the world of higher education or the work place. Sixth Form students benefit from an excellent tutorial programme and we offer high-quality support to navigate the UCAS process for those students applying to university, as well as bespoke guidance for those students who choose to apply for an apprenticeship or to enter employment. Our Sixth Form team are dedicated professionals ready to guide and assist you both academically and pastorally throughout your studies with us. Daily contact with an Academic Mentor and support from my Deputy Head of Sixth Form and the Sixth Form Administrator means that we provide extensive help and guidance and create effective links between the school, students and parents/carers. We have the highest expectations of our students and support them in striving to be the best they can be. Sixth Formers enjoy many privileges not available to the rest of the school and in return we ask our Sixth Formers to act as role models for younger students and actively engage with a range of school activities. I chose Three Rivers Academy Sixth Form because I valued the closer and more informal relationships with teachers who already knew me so well. Student We work at a fast pace but the teachers make sure no one is left behind. If we are stuck there is always plenty of one to one support. Student The activities we were set in lessons varied and the work was always interesting and engaging. Student The quality of the lessons was very good and I received lots of support and help from my teachers. Student Teachers are always willing to help and are enthusiastic about their subjects. CHOOSING THE RIGHT STUDY PROGRAMME
The Sixth Form team has a wealth of experience to help and guide students to select the most appropriate courses for them to study, ensuring they succeed in the Sixth Form and secure their future after leaving us.
BESPOKE, STIMULATING, CHALLENGING
We offer advice and guidance for students on their applications to university, apprenticeships and work placements. Throughout their time with us, students develop essential transferable skills both within taught subjects and through the tutorial programme. Developing key competencies as well as securing academic qualifications ensures that students are ready for their next step in life whichever pathway they choose.
ENRICHMENT
Our tutorial programme provides a range of experiences to ensure that students feel prepared for their next steps and the demands modern life places upon young adults.
ENJOY, EXPLORE, THRIVE
The traditional A Level route will suit many students and these courses are now taught as fully ‘linear’ two year programmes of study. Alternatively, a range of vocational courses are on offer which can be taken together or alongside A Level subjects. We offer the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) as an enrichment subject and also support GCSE resits in Maths and English Language.
The sense of community and support available within the Sixth Form student body is also very strong. Students are supportive of each other and regular social events throughout the year, including the RAG week, help to strengthen these bonds. Making use of our superb new sports facilities, Three Rivers Academy Sixth Form offers a unique opportunity for students to study whilst accessing an American style Sports Academy programme. We aim for our Sports Academy programme to provide talented students with a unique blend of academic study, expert coaching, personalised training and high-quality competition. We currently have academies in Football and Basketball with plans to extend these in the future.
