A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO HUMAN BEINGS.
Since 2007, there has been a medical-shamanic outpatient clinic in Vienna offered by the Gruppe 94. It aims at implementing a holistic approach in the treatment of people with diagnosis “cancer”.
WHO OR WHAT HEALS?
There have been arguments over the question “Who heals?” for a long time. My personal approach is as follows: “It is not medicine, but the human being who heals himself”. If we take this sentence to be true, it means that we can help the patient as companions, in many different ways. Our goal should be to activate and strengthen the patient’s self-healing powers again and provide him with the time he needs to heal. However, this also implies that the disease not only affects the body, but the person as a whole. Therefore, it is the doctor’s role to accompany the patient on several levels: on a physical, mental, social and spiritual level. This corresponds with the WHO recommendations on health. This task is too large for one person alone, which is why there is a need for an interdisciplinary cooperation with the goal of helping the sick find their own way to health (...)
