Group and 5 at Selex Galileo. More specifically:

• The University Pole of Logistics Systems of Livorno www.polologistica.unipi.it is the Service Centre of the University of Pisa for university-level training in the professions of the sector, and the development of scientific research and innovation in the logistics field. It trains graduates able to design, manage and evaluate infrastructures and logistics and transport services and professionals specialized in the management or design of logistics systems and supply chain. The Municipality of Livorno, the Livorno Foundation and the Port Authority of Livorno are supporters and promoters of this pole.

Business Services Furthermore, for the service functions of wider scope, the Research and Enterprise Centre of the CNR in Florence provides about 500 researchers in the CNR Research Area in Sesto Fiorentino and another 100 researchers in other institutes in other city locations.

• Port of Livorno: a First Class port of the European Ten-T Core network, it is one of the largest seaports in Italy and the Mediterranean, with an annual traffic capacity of about 30 million tons of goods and 600,000 TEU.

• Port of Piombino: total area of 300,000 square meters. Italy’s third-largest passenger port with 3 million passengers per year.

• Pisa Cargo Village Airport: cargo infrastructure dedicated exclusively to the air cargo sector and Tuscan cargo operators, built with state-of-the-art storage and assistance systems and in compliance with safety standards. • Logistic Park: Arezzo (Arezzo Logistic Park); Chiusi, province of Siena (Logistic Intermodal Centre).

• Truck Village: a project that proposes itself as an accumulation lung for the vehicles that have to embark at the port of Livorno, which is only 5 km away, offering an information service that allows the truck driver to reach the embarkation only near the embarkation time. It allows lorries carrying out their logistic activities at the freight village and the port to stop in a safe place during short periods of inactivity.

• In 2021 will open the Tuscany Pharma Valley, the automatic logistics platform with high technological integration specifically conceived and designed to serve the pharmaceutical industry. The investment is aimed at equipping an area of 125,000 square meters, in which there will be 21,000 square meters of warehouses, with temperature-controlled environments, suitable for the storage of pharmaceuticals, with 8 loading and freight transport areas in addition to about 6,000 square meters of offices. Storage capacity is estimated at 38,000 initial pallets, of which three-quarters can maintain temperatures between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius and a quarter between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius. Unique at national level and among the few at European level, it is an important hub for the development of logistics activities and private investment in the field of specialised handling.

• Alto Tirreno Port System Authority www.portialtotirreno.it is the managing and coordinating authority for the port activities of the main Tuscan port yards. In addition to administrative and traffic functions, it provides companies with professional training services, technological and organizational innovation, inter-sector integration with port logistics users, access to European co-financing for sector projects.
