• It is also part of the Sant’Anna universe, the Institute of Communication Technologies (TECIP) of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa (www.santannapisa.it/it/istituto/tecip/tecip-institute) is specialized in optical/photonic, sensor and biophotonic communication networks; real-time embedded systems and IoT sensor networks; virtual environments and robotic systems of interface and human-machine interaction and human perception.
• IFAC Institute of Applied Physics www.ifac.cnr.it, conducts research, experimental development and technological transfer activities in many areasof Applied Physics and ICT, such as Space, Aerospace and Earth Observation, Health, Nanomedicine and Safety, Environmental Monitoring and Food Quality, Cultural Heritage.
• INO National Institute of Optics https://fed.ino.it, an institution of the highest international prestige part of the National Research Council, for almost a century has been involved in pure and applied research, technology transfer and training and offers metrology services, consulting and testing for the private and public world.
• LENS European Nonlinear Spectroscopy Laboratory www.lens.unifi.it, an international benchmark for light wave and application research in atomic, photonics, biophysics and chemistry physics.
Technical Support Centres Furthermore, for the service functions of wider scope, the Research and Enterprise Centre of the CNR in Florence provides about 500 researchers in the CNR Research Area in Sesto Fiorentino and another 100 researchers in other institutes in other city locations.
The Centre also provides access to the entire national scientific network of the CNR, consisting of 107 research institutes, with about 8000 permanent staff of researchers, technicians and administrators. Among the primary services: a technological desk for the launch of collaborations and advanced services; the development of regional, national and international projects; specialized professional training.
