A MESSAGE FROM DEAN DAMON ANDREW Welcome to the 2020 Scholarship Awards Ceremony! While this year’s ceremony looks a little different than it has in years past, what hasn’t changed is the academic excellence of our students and the generosity of our donors. Because of them, the College of Education is home to world-class programs and people, and our future has never looked brighter. Thanks to the financial contributions from our generous donors, we are able to award the most scholarships on campus and more than any other College of Education in Florida. In turn, these scholarships and fellowships help foster excellence at FSU by attracting the best and brightest students. As part of today’s celebration, you will hear from some of these exceptional students about how these scholarships help them achieve their educational and professional goals. These are important stories, as you will learn just how critical a scholarship can be in a student’s life. In fact, you can talk to many of our past scholarship recipients and they will inevitably mention how much the financial support meant to them. With a mission of being student-focused and innovation-driven, we strive to provide as much support as possible to our students, both academically and financially. At the end of a student’s time at Florida State, we want him or her to be focused on career plans and not student debt. With your continued support, our students can have the financial resources, cutting-edge programs and facilities they need to succeed. We are grateful for your commitment and investment in the College of Education. Thank you for celebrating our dedicated donors and outstanding students! All my best,

Damon P. S. Andrew, Ph.D., FNAK, FNAKHE Dean and Professor College of Education Florida State University

A MESSAGE FROM ASSISTANT DEAN FOR DEVELOPMENT KEVIN DERRYBERRY Greetings All, Thank you for joining us for yet another unprecedented year of scholarship support for the College of Education. Despite the hardships of 2020, our community has come together to support the future of this great institution. As educators, we must stay positive and remember that we prepare the next generation of leaders in education, counseling, and sport. The recipients of these scholarships will graduate from Florida State University prepared to shape our world, knowing that none of us succeeds entirely on our own. Our students learn first-hand from the generosity of alumni and friends whom they have never met, who have helped paved the way for their success. Our donors support future generations who share the values of the great community we call Florida State University and invest with confidence that our students will make them proud. It is an honor to facilitate this program and develop further opportunities for student success. Thank you all for your support. Sincerely,

Kevin Derryberry Assistant Dean for Development College of Education Florida State University
