Greetings from winter… as I am writing this, it is Groundhog Day and yes, he saw his shadow; 6 more weeks of winter.
I don’t know about you, but this time of year, with its short days and cold temps, can start to wear on me. I start getting feelings of uneasiness, almost light anxiety about everyday things.
When I start to have these feelings, I am reminded that God is in full control and faith in Him will overcome any fear.
In Psalm 27, David (the man after God’s own heart) wrote these words, “ Light, space, zest— that’s God! So, with him on my side I’m fearless, afraid of no one and nothing.
Even as the crazy world around me seems to be falling apart, God remains firm, solid, strong; “When vandal hordes ride down ready to eat me alive, Those bullies and toughs fall flat on their faces. When besieged, I’m calm as a baby. When all hell breaks loose, I’m collected and cool.”
With His Son as our Savior, God’s house is now in our hearts. Whatever is going on, He is right there with us, guiding, directing and most of all protecting!
(His house), That’s the only quiet, secure place in a noisy world, The perfect getaway, far from the buzz of traffic.
So, when those winter doldrums try to get hold of you, remember Who loves you and is with you all the time. He is just waiting to show that love whenever you ask!
Blessings on and off the road,
The key to that peace and calm is trusting God and wanting nothing more then being with Him in whatever you’re doing and wherever you are.
“ I’m asking God for one thing, only one thing: To live with him in his house my whole life long. Jim and Betty Edleston CMA
