FSAS Supplied Equipment Checklist
The Seaeye Cougar System requires one supply, a 67kVA 3Ø
Cougar ROV in a Box System.
50/60 Hz motor rated supply for the complete system. Maximum current is 161A; recommended Motor Rated Breaker is 100A. The system is supplied with a power cable of 60m length, 16 mm2 , 4-core cable rated to 200A. Electrical connection of the system, including fire alarm, telephone etc will be completed by the vessel electrician or, in accordance with his instructions. All cable runs shall be secure and tidy; cable routes shall be agreed with the vessel electrician. Earth bosses shall be connected to all containers that have electrical supplies.

Communications between ROV control container, bridge, survey and crane shall be by hard-wired communication system (FSAS supplied)

Positioning of Equipment and Deck Loading The system will be positioned on board the vessel under instructions from the vessel master. The ROV supervisor will provide guidance on this, in particular the fleet angle of the umbilical from the winch to the sheave under the crane.

Crane will require a pad eye for shackle to umbilical sheave. (ROV weight is 550kg) • Twist-lock connectors for system sea-fastening. • Access to freshwater for vehicle wash down.
The system will normally be deck fastened using Twist locks, (Vessel supplied equipment.) If system has to be welded to the deck then FSAS will supply the tie down plates and I or H beams. Any welds shall be inspected using magnetic particle detection. A qualified person shall carry this out. The spare tether shall be securely sea fastened in a sheltered area.
Client Supplied Services Checklist • Welders for deck fastening if twist-locks not used. • Inspection engineer. • Crane and dockside labour for loading and positioning of the equipment.
